Shrek Director Returns with New Netflix Animated Film ‘Ellian et le sortilège’

Ellian and the Enchantment is a family-friendly fantasy animation film directed by Vicky Jenson (known for Shrek). This musical comedy has been available for streaming on Netflix since November 22, 2024.

Produced by Skydance Animation in Madrid, Ellian and the Enchantment features a cast of top American and Spanish actors. The lyrics for the musical’s songs were penned by Glen Slater (Tangled), with the music composed by Alan Menken. If his name doesn’t ring a bell, you’ve likely spent a good chunk of your childhood humming his tunes, as he’s responsible for the soundtracks of The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. Ellian is a fiery young princess with powerful magical abilities, living with her parents, the king and queen of the magical kingdom of Lumbia. Suddenly, a bizarre curse strikes the kingdom, splitting it in two and transforming the monarchs into monsters.
