There was a lot of information I wanted to convey -- tendency to run vs slow it down after various "triggers" on defense, change in offensive efficiency the longer the team has the ball, how the Rockets perform compared to league average, how they perform compared to last season. Those plots were the most concise way I could think of to present this. I welcome all suggestions to improve on it. Thanks for the feedback. But it isn't for your average sports fan to read through. The <t second charts are not intuitive enough for most readers to grasp immediately. Maybe the material can be dumbed down some: find something really interesting in the data and then explain it thoroughly; use the one post to explain the data; compare 2 lines per graph. <br><br>Basically, your audience here isn't stats or math people and the material should reflect that. The worse efficiency on longer possessions compared to last season is not surprising. You need a great go-to scorer and/or a great creator to be effective in a half-court offense. The loss of both Yao and TMac this season obviously has a negative effect on our half-court set. It also debunks the myth that Adelman's movement offense does not need dominant scorers to be good.
