The system attaches 'Guest' to your username if you post without registering; it's a way to allow visitors/lurkers to post. What is it that you are looking for exactly? Do you want to pursue the highest Top Tier phone available or are you willing to settle for an older Top Tier or maybe a new Second Tier phone. I was looking for a phone myself but I had to research it deeply since I was aiming for an unlocked phone. I didn't want to add a data plan and was fine with just wifi.
There are way too many available options. Do you have a data plan already? Is it cheaper to just upgrade? Do you want something specific from a certain phone? Looking for a certain feature?
I used two sites to help me decide. Phone Arena GSM Arena Phone Scoop ***
Both links provide up to date news and reviews about phones. You can search by plans or by brand. Phone Arena has a more detailed 'search by specific feature' and with both sites you can compare two phones (or 3 with phone arena).
I can't give no personal account of phones since I was just gifted a T-Mobile G1 (2008). I was on the market to search for a more recent phone but the G1 has the features I need. In my search I came across so many phones that almost do the same thing and so expensive if you go by unlocked. If you want the latest then compare whatever is the latest Galaxy S version vs the iPhone 4 (With a rumored iPhone 5 release date this year, so you have to be 100% sure before you jump in). Obviously unlocked phones are more expensive than T-Mobile brand phones so there is that to take into account.
Edit: *** Added another link to help find information and compare cellphones.
