it's really nice to see that he's focused. maybe things aren't great for him this season, but it won't be because lack of effort. if he stays in this page, good things could happen. he showed potential two years ago, now he is heading for the PF job, it's time for him to step up

Patterson is such a great guy and a hard worker. It will be a great battle between Patterson and Mottie for the starting 4 spot.

To me PP can have the starting 4 with Jones backing him up as long as PP continues to work hard and show signs that he can do what he did during his rookie season and not further regress like he did last year. I'd rather have Mottie play backup Center this year until he gets acclimated to the league, and that is where we have a more pressing need right now. Mottie could be our PF of the future but he has to learn to crawl before he can walk.

i like PP. have nothing against him. i hope he succeeds. but i really want motie to be our future at the 4. well, if motie turns into a solid player. im basing this more on hope than any sure evidence.

I'm expecting big things from Patterson this year. I think he was probably the player on our team that suffered the most from the compressed schedule. Recovering from injury while playing as much as they were has got to be tough, and it seemed as though his development stalled as a result. But this year, with a full offseason to work and plenty of time to train with the coaching staff, I think he should get back on the track we expected him to be on after his rookie year. I think being one of the more senior players will be good for him as well - it sounds like he's already working harder as a result!
