@  jorgeaam : (31 October 2015 - 01:59 AM) Let Montrezl have fun
@  jorgeaam : (31 October 2015 - 01:59 AM) I hate you refs
@  txtdo1411 : (30 October 2015 - 10:50 PM) I'm hopeful. I just want to see us fight and play with energy, especially on the defensive end. I don't see any reason we couldn't pull this one off, but it is going to take a much better effort then we displayed in the opener.
@  majik19 : (30 October 2015 - 09:09 PM) anyone think we're going to win tonight? I think having Dwight in the lineup is going to make a huge difference, enough for us to pull one out.
@  cointurtlemoose : (29 October 2015 - 05:42 AM) upside is that Capela looked pretty good??
@  rockets best... : (29 October 2015 - 02:42 AM) this is just like the stinker they loss to the Lakers at the beginning of last year
@  rockets best... : (29 October 2015 - 02:40 AM) totally agree Willk
@  Willk : (29 October 2015 - 01:53 AM) no effort tonight. just pathetic
@  majik19 : (25 October 2015 - 08:26 PM) also read the Zach Lowe article - he's definitely drinking the kool-aid, and for good reason! I don't know if we're the biggest regular season threat (howard's health), but I think we are in the playoffs.
@  majik19 : (25 October 2015 - 08:25 PM) Sad about Saunders... seems sudden, though I knew he had fought on and off with cancer.
@  jorgeaam : (25 October 2015 - 06:41 PM) RIP Flip Saunders, sad day for basketball
@  YaoMan : (23 October 2015 - 04:49 PM) Zach Lowe seems to think the Rox are the biggest threat to GSW: http://grantland.com...-16-nba-season/
@  cointurtlemoose : (23 October 2015 - 04:36 PM) Hey if yall want a good podcast to listen to, find the Dunc'd On Basketball Podcast on Itunes, Rahat just did a Rockets preview with the host.
@  majik19 : (13 October 2015 - 09:09 PM) Apparently we claimed Arsalan Kazemi off waivers from the Hawks today... yet another undersized (6'7") power forward for Morey's cupboard.
@  Mario Peña : (10 October 2015 - 01:12 PM) If your part if the Red94 Fantasy Basketball League check the thread to vote for the date and time for the draft event. Thanks y'all!
@  jorgeaam : (07 October 2015 - 08:47 PM) Guys we need 1 more owner for the Red94 fantasy league, if interested please comment on the post in the fantasy basketball thread
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 06:50 PM) Kobe ranked one spot higher than Ariza? Is this based on legacy or...??
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 04:13 PM) It was hard to keep up with both the Astros and Rockets at the same time. Should be interesting on Thursday with the Texans and Astros on simultaneously.
@  Mario Peña : (07 October 2015 - 04:09 PM) It was fun to have the Rockets on last night! Right now I'm watching the Celtics versus Milan and Alessandro Gentile is impressive.
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Well, thinking twice about it, I'd rather have him score less and have the team as a whole do better. Lawson should take a lot of his load off

It's that time of year again.  To help get us through to tip-off let's all show off our predictive prowess.  I'd say there's nothing too far out of bounds, but let's try not to get too zany.  For instance, the Monstars will not win this year's Finals so don't even try it  :P

I'll get the ball rolling.

The Rockets will not trade any of their players this season.  Morey has this roster exactly where he wants it.

Andre Drummond is going to be an absolute force this season.  It is likely that I will never fully forgive myself for not grabbing him in the 2nd round of our fantasy draft.  Drummond will come close to averaging 20 & 20 with 3 blocks a game.  He might even make some free throws.

Jeremy Lin will thrive in Charlotte.  The collective resonance of 10,000,000 "I told you so's" spoken simultaneously will cause earthquakes in California and beyond.  The collective groan emanating from 6,000,000 Houstonians will cancel it out and spare the rest of the southeastern US.

The San Antonio Spurs finish #1 in the WC.  Anthony Davis destroys them in round 1 of the playoffs.

Minnesota, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia will be the most fun teams to watch this season.

Rondo will wind up losing his job to Darren Collison shortly after the All-Star break.

The Washington Wizards finish 2nd in the EC and push the Cavs to 7 games in the EC finals before falling.

Draymond Green regresses.

Damian Lillard will make 13 threes in a game this season.

Kobe Bryant will play in at least 60 games this year.

That should get the ball rolling.  :)

I am going with my boldest prediction from last year, that K-Pap will have a better year than Chandler Parsons even though K-Pap does not have a team ( I do not know when to admit I'm wrong)

Impossible. There will be a move (however small) at the trade deadline. It's his signature.

The San Antonio Spurs finish #1 in the WC.  Anthony Davis destroys them in round 1 of the playoffs.

You have the Pellies in the 8 spot? I see them in 7 with maybe Sac rounding out the 8 as RBF stated above. Davis' improvement alone moves them up that much.

I know, I am bummed about that!! I don't see why he didn't get picked up. Yes, his shooting was pretty awful, but you can't tell me he's worse at this point than the bottom 10% of the league.

        My bold predictions:

        - OKC loses in the first round

        - Celtics make the 3 seed (not that I like them all that much, just that I don't trust the East beyond the Cavs)

        - Related to that, David Lee has a resurgent year

        - Lebron has nagging injuries and misses at least 30 games

        - Tony Parker has a bounce-back year

-Carmelo Anthony suffers a season ending injury before NYE.

-Three of the eight playoff teams in the East have losing records.

-Someone other than James Harden, Steph Curry, Lebron James, or Anthony Davis wins MVP.

-A Seattle NBA team becomes a VERY real possibility.

-I miraculously win the fantasy league on the final day of the season.

          - Harden will average closer to 24 pts/game

          - Memphis will suffer the injury bug as the Rockets did last year

          - Scoring champ will be Lillard

          - Rockets will go undefeated in our Chinese Lunar New Year Uni's

          - Any nationally televised game against the Lakers will result in the commentators talking for lengthy mins if Bryant will come back next year or not

          - Dwight will get a tech during a matchup against the Lakers

The east has improved a whole lot this year

Was this a prediction or an assertion?

I actually think the East will be even weaker. I think the Cavs will struggle being healthy all year, the Bulls are breaking in a new coach, the Raptors are either going to be good or implode, the Hawks are going to regress (win-wise, if nothing else)... I think Boston is crazy overrated. Washington may get better, but Pierce moved out West. I think the Pistons may surprise some people, and I don't know if the Bucks are just plain too young (though definitely on an upward trajectory). I think the bottom of the East could be better - there is reason to believe the Magic will improve under Skiles, that the Knicks will be better with healthy Carmelo, and the 76ers will improve some... Even the Nets may be better with a healthy Brook Lopez and the sad cloud that follows Deron Williams gone.

I do have one bold prediction about the East - the 76ers won't be the worst team in the league.

                  As for other predictions:

                  1) Harden wins the MVP

                  2) The Pelicans somehow get a top 4 seed out West

                  3) Lionel Hollins is the first coach fired/first coach to resign

                  4) Durant signs a 1 year extension with OKC by the Allstar game (or maybe during that week).

                  5) Carmelo trade rumors dominate the headlines, not Durant extension rumors.
