@  thejohnnygold : (28 October 2014 - 02:02 PM) This USA Today article is a must-read. Interviews/quotes from Harden, Morey, Battier, and more. LINK
@  jorgeaam : (28 October 2014 - 02:49 AM) Yeah, good luck to you too, Mario, I guess you are going to need it this year.
@  feelingsuper... : (27 October 2014 - 10:13 PM) Just wanted to say thanks and good luck to all the forum members in the Red94 Fantasy Basketball League. Also, don't forget to get your lineups ready tomorrow and if you have time get rolling on your team image. Have fun!
@  Drew in Abilene : (27 October 2014 - 02:51 PM) Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has waived Jeff Adrien, Earl Clark, Robert Covington, Akeem Richmond and guard Ish Smith. via NBA.com
@  2016Champions : (25 October 2014 - 05:59 AM) Jeremy who? Lol
@  rockets best... : (24 October 2014 - 01:16 AM) Nash should have quit 4 years ago
@  Cooper : (24 October 2014 - 01:15 AM) suns really sold high on him.
@  Willk : (24 October 2014 - 12:03 AM) sad to see nash's career end like this
@  cointurtlemoose : (23 October 2014 - 07:16 PM) Philly "doing it right" is a catch-22 when doing it right is completely sacrificing competitiveness for almost entire seasons. I see what you're saying, and it's not Philly's fault.
@  2016Champions : (23 October 2014 - 05:59 PM) I need more to go on to write something up. Just brainstorming right now. Monroe is more of a defensive plus at the 4 than the 5; I think the reason he played the 5 early on his because he couldn't shoot--no longer the case.
@  08huangj : (23 October 2014 - 12:28 PM) He just doesn't seem like a four to me, he started his career as a center. I also don't think that he'd be happy to be a backup and what does a very reasonable price mean. Maybe you can create a thread.
@  2016Champions : (23 October 2014 - 10:14 AM) Monroe would not only improve our starting 4 spot but also serve as a backup center.
@  2016Champions : (23 October 2014 - 10:12 AM) Should we go after Greg Monroe? He seems to have improved his midrange shot, and considering the likelihood he walks, we might be able to acquire him for a very reasonable price.
@  Buckko : (23 October 2014 - 04:31 AM) I have no problem with philly tanking. If you're gonna do something, do it right. They should be an extremely entertaining team in a few years.
@  Willk : (23 October 2014 - 01:23 AM) 2016 - I agree. I would rather see Canaan play than Ish
@  2016Champions : (23 October 2014 - 01:19 AM) Isaiah Canaan seems to get better with every game.
@  cointurtlemoose : (23 October 2014 - 12:09 AM) That said, Philly is ridiculous. It's entertaining on a level, but it's also out of hand. I was for the reform with the proposed percentages they voted on today. Surprised it didn't pass.
@  cointurtlemoose : (23 October 2014 - 12:08 AM) I think it's interesting Mr. Rick. It's kind of a give and take to me. I'm totally okay with teams intentionally going through a 'rebuilding' phase, and I don't think you want to erase that too much with something like the wheel idea.
@  rocketrick : (22 October 2014 - 10:32 PM) No Lipstick on this Pig........NBA GM's say without a doubt James Harden is the #1 SG and Dwight Howard is the #1 C. Probably more hate coming my way for mentioning. I would just like an occasional informative article on this site from time to time but I guess I just expect too much........
@  rocketrick : (22 October 2014 - 09:41 PM) Why the hate when I post something of consequence?

With less than a week to go for the season to start, and all of us trying to figure out who was going to be the odd man out  (Dorsey,Black, Adrien) Morey just went and claimed Earl Clark of waivers, any comments about this?

Morey wants every lottery pick of the 2009 draft to play for the Rockets for at least 1 preseason game.

My "sources?" was a joke as well. Was waiting for that one ESPN guy's photo with the swirling eyes. I knew it was a joke.

we also signed some pg guy today and let geruad johnson go. Again, i don't think this moves the needle, but it might have more impact on the ish/canaan grouping imho then earl clark on tj, dmo, etc.

guys name is akeem richmond, i know nothing about him:  here's the article:

The rockets just wanted to meet their quota of 3 camp cuts sign to the D-league. First Mitchell, now geruad, and soon Akeem. This gives me one conclusions. Black is getting a roster spot, because if they were to cut him, first priority would be signing him to one the 3 spots with the vipers, and they will soon have those 3 spots filled so he is being kept.

The idea of getting these players to the vipers is any young or undrafted players the rockets might have looked at can now be groomed and tested in their own development team and basketball systems to see if they can become decent role players down the road. Like Daniels who was a success, Covington who has the potential, but failed to do anything with it, and quite a few failures over the years. However if you can get a Daniels gem every couple to few years, I would call that a success and key to building a stable and deep team. I'm glad we're a team ahead of the curve with this minor league like system.

I liked Clark with the Lakers. He was usually very reliable, especially on D. However, his career has spiraled downwards since moving on to the Cavs. I think he will be kept on the roster for the regular season.

This was my last post since May when Lillard hit the buzzer!

Clark is terrible in basically every statistic. I wonder if this has do with his contract.

I agree. Clark is terrible. I heard Morey was interested in Villanueva too. Was Robert Covington really so bad that Morey would rather consider those guys? Hell, I would rather take a flier on Metta World Peace at the 4.
