@  miketheodio : (07 May 2014 - 05:16 AM) robin lopez after the game 1 lost - with Houston, there wasn't that much pressure on defense and offensively, they focused a lot more on isolation game whereas San Antonio's swinging the ball' ugh
@  rockets best... : (07 May 2014 - 04:12 AM) amazing the difference a good coach can make.
@  Cooper : (07 May 2014 - 03:47 AM) It is only one game but definitely makes you wonder
@  rockets best... : (07 May 2014 - 02:51 AM) the Spurs are doing what we should have done......hang ten. we should have had so much foot up their butt their sh*t had footprints
@  miketheodio : (07 May 2014 - 02:42 AM) so is portland great or just okay. they are getting dominated by the spurs. rockets performance is embarrassing compared to this.
@  feelingsuper... : (07 May 2014 - 01:05 AM) What was his motto? "No excuses" which is kind of funny now.
@  feelingsuper... : (07 May 2014 - 01:04 AM) No matter how good one is or how right for the job one may be if you don't understand organizational politics someone above you will crush you. He knew he'd lost and went out kicking and screaming like baby.
@  rockets best... : (07 May 2014 - 12:16 AM) I think GSW will regret this move by this time next year. full of himself or not he was the right coach for them
@  feelingsuper... : (06 May 2014 - 09:12 PM) I think Jackson got a little full of himself. No matter how good you are at what you do you are going to have a boss. By all accounts he didn't grasp that.
@  rockets best... : (06 May 2014 - 08:42 PM) really bad move by GSW. depending on who they bring in could be disaster
@  Cooper : (06 May 2014 - 07:19 PM) Looks like Jackson is out of GS, he kinda got screwed they almost beat the clips without bogut.
@  feelingsuper... : (06 May 2014 - 05:27 PM) Harden ended up 5th in MVP voting, second year starting.
@  feelingsuper... : (06 May 2014 - 04:51 PM) I saw that, that's rough. Funny though.
@  majik19 : (06 May 2014 - 04:26 PM) Tmac tweeted last night that he had as many points and rebounds as Roy Hibbert last night.
@  08huangj : (06 May 2014 - 04:02 AM) Wow: Clippers are punishing the Thunder.
@  Cooper : (06 May 2014 - 02:45 AM) Not an exciting start to round 2
@  rockets best... : (04 May 2014 - 09:21 PM) they wouldn't be devoid of talent, but I think it would be 2 steps backward
@  miketheodio : (04 May 2014 - 09:18 PM) jonas, terrence ross, johnson, and derozan aren't terrible. lowry would be a hit, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.
@  rockets best... : (04 May 2014 - 08:19 PM) the raps are back to square one if they don't resign Lowrey
@  feelingsuper... : (04 May 2014 - 08:06 PM) Spurs look like like they might destroy Dallas today.

I'm starting this thread in the hopes that everyone who is compelled to fill these forums with their wonderful criticisms, declarations of stupidity and failure, and unfailing hindsight might limit their whining to here.  You can bury those who you blame and then spit on their graves.  It will be good fun.

Portland played well.  We got beat.  I'd say, "don't be sore losers", but it's far too late for that.  All I can ask is that people try to limit their sour grapes to here.  That won't happen either.

Here, I'll get started.  This series never would have ended like this if Harden, Lin, and Parsons had bothered to show up from the get go--but hey, that's on McFail!  He didn't have his troops ready to go.  SVG would have had them playing tough on both ends of the floor and those shots would have gone in simply because SVG was standing nearby.

Parsons is trash and is too egotistical.  He should just focus on his modeling gig.  Trade him!

We run too many post-ups!

Harden is no superstar!  He's too good for defense!  Trade Him!

I know I'm being snarky about this, but that's what happens after reading all of the negative posts here today.  It does ruin the forum a bit.  :P

Whine made of sour grapes.....so choice.

@JG

you and I usually agree on things most of the time, however we have hit a fork in the road on this subject. whining as you call it is part of  the healing process from a season that ended way to soon and way to far below expectations. I see no problem with venting. this forum is the place where we come to discuss all things Rockets. right now the troops are hurting. the best way to get beyond that is let it out. trying to belittle the posters who are venting that hurt is wrong IMO. you and FSS may be having all kinds of warm and fuzzy feelings about the future, but none of that helps with the pain of today. we have to wait a whole calendar year to have a chance to get back to this point. I'm pissed about that.

No offense but this is just idiotic.. Seeing as you have been on this website for a long time, obviously you should know how fans are and should accept that. Not try and bring them down because they are upset over there team being knocked out of the playoffs. Some people take much pleasure in watching the rockets(including you I assume and Myself) and now they have to wait quite a while until they can see their beloved team play again.

A day of sorrow, a day of anguish, a day of lost of opportunities.

This will stay with a lot of us, it has been burned into our sport souls.

It will linger because we were the better team, but we lost to the smarter team. The mental mistakes throughout the series from both coaches and players was staggering.

The Silvering Lining, every team needs a lost like this, to grow, to mature, and conquer.

I would love it if the Rockets hired JVG as a consultant. And the rockets had a defensive camp after a couple weeks from today. They use Hakeem in that same exact way. JVG doesn't want to coach but he can teach. That would be my wish this summer, not a new coach, or a blockbuster trade, but the core deciding, we can't play defense, so lets get better over the summer.

You're right.  I made this thread after reading the countless posts belittling our coach, our players, and our season. I was frustrated and venting myself.  Personally, I don't understand why so many people want to piss all over the thing that they love--obviously, they feel hurt by them--but for me, you're all pissing on something that I love too.

I do think it's funny that my post gets slammed for its tone and attitude....perhaps some (not pointing the finger at you, RBF) should consider their own posts if they think I sound like such a fool above.  I don't see much difference between that one and so many others.

I noticed I put Stan Van Gundy in my hasty writing--meant JVG

        Miketheodio, they said, "SLAP!"

Rocketmansincesteviefranc....Qualifiers like "no offense but" can be left out next time.  It is offensive to say I'm being idiotic.  That's fine.  I find a lot of the posts/posters I am referring to offensive so I guess we're even.

Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings.  Sorry for posting angry.  Thanks for calling me out, RBF.

Should I just delete the whole thing or would y'all rather I leave it up for.....whatever?

no leave it up. this thread speaks to the high quality of members here. one of the reason I enjoy talking to you and FSS so much is you guys defend your opinions as well as any of us. however you both  possess objective qualities. that's a rare trait among sports forums. I say one up for you guys for taking a deeper look and being sensitive to the situation. that's a good lesson for some to learn. in a world where it seems most have little regards or respect for the feeling of other............it's refreshing

Look at it this way, RBF, sure it's a whole calendar year from now before the Rockets battle again in the 1st Round of the NBA Playoffs. In the meantime, we get to look forward to roster improvements and the entire next regular season as the Rockets prepare to make a much more forceful and determined push in one of our favorite pasttimes, the NBA Playoffs. Plenty of lessons to be learned all around from all the painful losses this season. Particularly how close they came to winning the series. Portland only won 3 of the games by a total of 5 points, and the 4th game by 5 points. So one play here or there, could have made all the difference. That should be a lesson well learned for the Rockets going forward. I don't want the bad taste they suffered by losing in the 1st Round this season to go away. Instead, this should clearly motivate all concerned going forward. That is what I look forward to.

Oops, I just realized I posted positive thoughts in the wrong forum.

Sorry guys, I'll move on now.

I completely agree. Teams have to feel this type of heart break before achieving greatness. They will learn from this series loss.
