@  HazeWinkle : (05 December 2013 - 05:09 AM) @feeling super he had only 15 pts 4-11 shooting which could be put on jh or km he had 5 to and he got blocked about 5 times by guys not known for their defense
@  thenit : (05 December 2013 - 04:35 AM) linsanity, hard yo get that label off, anyone with that king of usage rate has high turnovers including harden, Kobe etc
@  thenit : (05 December 2013 - 04:34 AM) Jeremy got that label in
@  thenit : (05 December 2013 - 04:33 AM) FSS agree to some extent but when hardens shot aren't falling, he has no Impact on the defensive floor and becomes a huge liability, doesn't happen every day when he has a goose egg
@  thenit : (05 December 2013 - 04:32 AM) Fuss
@  RollingWave : (05 December 2013 - 04:32 AM) Remember when folks said our turnover thing was all on Jeremy? yeah I don't either
@  feelingsuper... : (05 December 2013 - 04:24 AM) Dwight did not get stopped, are you joking? They should have ran through him more but hindsight is 20/20. How many more games wil Harden go 0% from three point land?

@  pharmag : (05 December 2013 - 03:16 AM) When 3 of your best 7 players are out its not entirely surprising that the team is struggling....
@  HazeWinkle : (05 December 2013 - 03:13 AM) i see a five game losing streak in store for them rockets.
@  Adi1008 : (05 December 2013 - 03:12 AM) The Rockets could potentially be on an eight game winning streak if they could win the easy games.
@  HazeWinkle : (05 December 2013 - 03:03 AM) omg isthis team great at turning the ball over
@  pharmag : (05 December 2013 - 03:00 AM) He is out with bruised thigh i thinki saw

Asik is to valuable to this team because we dont know what the rockets are gonig to get with dwight. Asik for Bosh is the only trade i would make because Asik is an elite defender and rebounder hell i think he is better then dwight most nights and Asik can develop a post game if a team allows him to develop. Other then bosh straight up with Asik i wouldnt trade him

I saw Asik smile tonight, he looked like he was really having fun out there. I would be very happy to keep Asik if he's happy to stay, but I'm pretty sure he would prefer to start somewhere.

I disagree, we can make someone special with him.

Like the Island of Dr. Moreau?  If we can just cross Asik with Motie we'd have a super-center!  Offensively and defensively gifted with a faux-hawk!

Lin's spending his time to improve. I haven't really seen all that much improvement from Asik(defensively it's hard to tell because he's almost always doing the right thing). If Asik were to buckle down and spent tons of time improving his free throws, his catching, and one or two post moves, he'd be an all-star on his next team. Because, let's be real, we have NO shot at re-signing him.

I agree with TDTN in regards to the Rockets chances on re-signing Asik after next season if perchance he happens to not be traded.

Asik is too valuable a player not to be getting Starter minutes for an NBA team and he is still young enough to be around for 2-3 more nice contracts.

I certainly don't blame Morey for signing Asik the summer of 2012 as there was no way to know if D12 would eventually sign with the Rockets, particularly since he was at that time an LA Laker. All signs at that time indicated the strong likelihood that D12 would be the Lakers next star as Kobe's career started coming to an end.

So, it is what it is and the Rockets just have to make the most of it. Kudos to Coach McHale and the Rockets in trying the D12/Asik pairing and I still maintain there is a chance we may see it another time or two before they completely discard that unless it turns out more positive the next couple of times it gets deployed.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all, lots to be thankful for this year, particularly if you also happen to be a Rockets fan!

Doesn't this all depend on Asik's intentions? If he wants to leave, then he's too valuable to not trade (something's better than nothing). If he wants to stay, then he's too valuable to trade.

Well, Asik doesn't really get to decide. It's up to the Rockets to figure out a way to get him more minutes on the floor while also not diminishing the team's results going forward.

NBA is a team sport and I'm sure there is a lot going on in the lockerroom that us in the public are not privy to. Asik's performance the last couple of games is a positive and let's see if he and the Rockets can build on this going forward.

Yes, at some point a hard decision will have to be made regarding Asik as he is worthy of being a starting center in the NBA. Unfortunately there is room for only one player to be the starter and no way will Asik supplant D12 anytime soon, if ever.

Still, it may be worthwhile to have Asik on the roster for the remainder of this season and all of next season just for all the positives that he can bring to the Rockets during his stay. The Rockets management just has to weigh the benefits of having Asik on the roster through the end of next season vs. what he could possibly return in a trade.

I would expect and hope as an avid Rockets fan, that Rockets management contemplate very carefully Asik and what he means to this team going forward (primarily a huge insurance policy covering if D12 goes down with a significant injury plus his contributiions to the team as a backup center and possibly as a part-time pairing with D12 on the floor) vs. the return a trade partner would offer.

The trade partner has to make it worth the Rocket's while, in my opinion, or else I believe the Rockets would be better off standing pat.

What does everyone else think especially seeing Asik's positive contribuitions these past 2 games?

I guess it boils down to this, and I wonder if management has already made that a decision?

I want to keep Asik if possible. I just feel better with Asik closing out games...I don't know why.... if there is a valid reason for this feeling, perhaps someone savvier than me can explain it.

I expect Asik to be traded at the deadline in February 2014 or next summer. Morey is not going to let that contract expire without cashing in the lotto ticket. It will be interesting to see if the FO can package Asik, Smith, the Rockets 2014 second round pick and the Rockets 2015 first round pick for a 2014 pick projected to be in the 7-10 range. Then if the ping pong ball gods smile ...

This draft class is strong throughout the whole lottery. I doubt even if we packaged Parsons, we'd be able to get that pick.
