@  Rahat Huq : (23 October 2013 - 11:44 AM) they're fantastic
@  Dan G : (23 October 2013 - 09:49 AM) Hey Rahat, I've been watching the Rose/Simmons previews and good call man. It is some great stuff. I bet the Rockets will be coming up soon.
@  2016Champions : (21 October 2013 - 02:19 PM) Thanks Rahat
@  Rahat Huq : (21 October 2013 - 02:12 PM) thanks guys - i'll address your thoughts in that thread and open it up
@  bboley24 : (21 October 2013 - 05:42 AM) i've never had an issue on this board but dang... someone has really ticked red94 off
@  bboley24 : (21 October 2013 - 05:41 AM) yeah wow
@  2016Champions : (21 October 2013 - 02:23 AM) JG did a complete 180 with his new pinned post lol
@  2016Champions : (21 October 2013 - 02:22 AM) What happened to not walking on egg shells?
@  RollingWave : (19 October 2013 - 03:06 AM) T-rob still looks pretty lost in the Blazers pre-season
@  bboley24 : (19 October 2013 - 01:15 AM) Which signing?
@  Richards : (18 October 2013 - 07:10 PM) This signing is more interesting than others. Rookie, un-drafted, undersized, late in training camp,..
@  2016Champions : (18 October 2013 - 06:47 PM) No, because they have non-guaranteed contracts. Morey does this every year, it doesn't hurt to give them a chance to prove their worth before cutting them.
@  Richards : (18 October 2013 - 06:35 PM) piling assets for trade package?
@  2016Champions : (18 October 2013 - 06:28 PM) And Williams
@  2016Champions : (18 October 2013 - 06:28 PM) I bet Brewer will be gone
@  bboley24 : (18 October 2013 - 02:39 PM) We are still at like 25 players on the roster
@  bboley24 : (18 October 2013 - 02:39 PM) Is anyone getting a rose or what?
@  2016Champions : (17 October 2013 - 10:05 PM) Offensively Dwight has been calling for the ball too much, considering he shoots 80% on pick and rolls but only 44.5% on post ups, not to mention Harden eats defenses from breakfast if you set him a good screen. Hopefully McHale will really push the pick and roll after all this pre-season experimentation.
@  2016Champions : (17 October 2013 - 04:06 AM) I would like to see him sprint back every time but in the half court it's not even fair
@  2016Champions : (17 October 2013 - 04:04 AM) Dwights numbers don't do him justice, he is a one man defensive wrecking machine

Wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this: http://espn.go.com/n...ayer-rankings-7

ESPN has been doing their NBARank again this summer.  While the methodology is rather controversial, to say the least, I am a part of the panel, so we'll leave it at that.

According to the panel, the Rockets have two top-10 players heading into the season.  Dwight Howard at #7 and James Harden somewhere in the top 5.

    Other notables:

    -Kobe at 25

    -Carmelo at 15

    -Marc Gasol at 10

    -LaMarcus Aldridge at 17

    -Kevin Love at 11

    -Steph Curry at 6

I am fine with Kobe and Carmelo where they are, but those have drawn the furor of the masses.

Top-5 is way too high for Harden.  I think Dwight should be top-5 instead, but its understandable why he is so low after last season.

#6 is way too high for Steph Curry.

If the Rockets manage to trade for Aldridge, they will have 3 top 20 players.

Also, it looks like by the opinion of our panel, the Thunder held under their control 3 budding top-5 players in Harden, Westbrook, and Durant.  Ouch.

I agree Curry has be business at #6.......maybe switch with Love at #11. I'm OK with the rank of D-12 and Harden as long as both are top 10. if it becomes necessary to move Asik getting LMA would be a dream trade scenario to me. I would have to drive downtown and pick out my spot for the parade. :)  it would be difficult to pull off but well worth it IMO. I don't know why there is so much complaining about the rankings.......while there are a few players in (what I would consider) spots they shouldn't be....... for the most part they seem pretty much on par to me

The Knicks are trash without Melo, so I think he should be higher.

To me there's practically nothing that separates harden from melo so that was surprising. Curry is living off his playoff run hype but I still think he's in the top 10 or at least close so not a huge deal.

              steph curry's ankles.

counter question: anyone not talked about enough more than gordon hayward...who else is going to put up numbers for the jazz? trey burke?

oh and p.s. i'd add bledsoe into the overrated category, but below both curry and irving.

I watched the first half of Jazz-Thunder last night and it definitely looked as though it's going to be him or nobody. Maybe if they can figure out how to get it inside Kanter and Favors might be able to help a little.

Harden is not only a willing passer (unless is crunch time), but a great one as well. Melo is a black hole....that's the ranking difference right there

Debates are destructive as they present one-sided opinions and demolish reasoned arguments, whereas discussions are constructive and encourage the expression of opinion.

Debate is the death of conversation.

No but honestly Harden as number 4 is way too high. Offensively he is behind Paul, James and Durant. But all 3 above him are way better defensively and plays the same amount of minutes. Defensively the top 100 players in the ranking are better than him. If you score 40 points

and give up 35 on your guy who is a spot up shooter because most of the time Harden get the easiest assignment to guard the weakest wing player to preserve energy on offense which is fine but he lets them light up the scoreboard. D12 is better and makes impact on both sides of the field.

If we all believe its ok to have melo at 15 and kobe on 25 who both scored about the same as harden are in our opinion about right spot in the ranking, how is harden a 4th for us? My opinion is that he is around 9th or 10th, just becaue he is so damn good at offense, but you have to look at it both sides of the court.

I do believe if Harden plays D, he will be in KD and James level, but he might also turn into a Carmelo that in 5 years we would rank him 15 and winning the Scoring Title, and say yea that about right. Time will tell, what kind of attitude he has.

I would swap Irving for Parker, and Melo for Curry in these rankings otherwise they're OK.

LOL at Kobe @ #25 HAHAHAHAHAHA!

KD is able to be bothersome on D simply because of his build, he's like freakin' Stretch Armstrong! especially relative to his position. The same effort from Harden, sadly leaves him about 6" short of being as effective.
