"committed to trying to make Lin work" ............I think you're reading to much into it .........that's the same thing we were saying about Lamb right before he left.

NBA players working hard in the off season is not exactly news, they all go around to work out even while travelling and whatever.
I am kinda curious to what Lin would be working on with Hakeem, though he did post up a couple times last year when faced with obviously smaller PG like Nate Robinson (though Robinson has a much higher vertical. )

If lin makes himself more versatile, then great, but all I want from is help running an offense, making stellar passes, and shooting treys.

No, you're just Lin trolling. Expecting a rookie to do that was ignaurant.
"Lin trolling" ..................whether you want to believe it or not........the fact that a player is working out doesn't mean Morey won't trade him.........what if they were trying Lin out to decide if they would keep him or not? what then?

I'm pretty sure Morey has made it clear we are keeping him when he almost blew up on the guy who asked him about trading lin in his Q&A.

I agree more or less. Of course while Lin is here the organization would like "it" to work as best as possible. Reading much into offseason "practice" would lead me to believe there isn't much of note going on.

I read Morey's Q&A.........at no time did I see him blow up. I think you read to much into it maybe hearing only what you wanted to hear. I have seen Morey praise a player then turn around and trade him. Morey's never going to show his hand, that's why he's one of the best in the business. he holds his cards very close

The only reason I posted this is because people were making a huge deal about Lin not working out with Howard yet after his comments earlier. To overreact either way is foolish but to have balance, sometimes it's required.
we all know Lin and Howard worked out in LA......the only thing I think was at issue is why he would say later he hadn't worked out with Howard when we knew this was after the LA workout

Lin is the glue of the team. It's not Harden who focuses more on the statistics than running the team plays.
Lin's step up must be more obvious than Harden. We have all seen the upsides of Harden. Yet if you count on one player too much, the significance diminishes. The law of diminishing marginal utility becomes the truth to behold. Lin has made many baskets at the crutch, much more than Harden did.
When the pressure is on, Harden's contribution seems to dwindle. The opposition team is always on him. It makes more sense to distribute the ball to keep the ball movement. Last season, the coaches were contradictory of giving Harden the ball and bragged on ball movements. We all; witnessed that Harden stopped the ball movement with his solo. Missing the last shots was not uncommon.
This season, the main improvement for the team should be on ball movements and good things would happen on passing and sharing.
Some stupid commentators said that D12 needed to play slow. Man! He's still young. Have you ever seen any young man go slow lately. Unless they were on dopes, they would crashed like maniacs. D12 thrives on chaos. Lin and Parson were the best on the court to stir things up. Harden is a great shooter and his vertical jump is awesome.
Houston should be out running and gunning with this young team. Asik and Howard would intimidate any shooter in the league that they would pack up the middle for Harden, Parsons and Lin to pour in their shots from downtown. The balls that don't go in would be bounced out for the twin towers. These two would dominant on the board, in and out.
Again, the Rockets only have two years to reach the top. They all know that. After these 2 years, their capsize would be prohibitive for them to build any team stronger than this one. That have to lose 2 out of 3; Parson, Asik and Lin.

Possibly post defence? I noticed a couple of times last season where opposing PGs decided that they could post Lin up and go to work (most notably I remember Chris Paul trying it out in one of the Clippers games). I thought Lin handled it very well and generally seems to do as good a job as can reasonably be expected when he's switched onto a bigger defender down low (I'm sure I remember him forcing Carmelo Anthony into a couple of tough misses at one point, though maybe I'm hallucinating because I also remember Melo being red hot in those games). But if teams are going to try and go at him in that area I guess it makes sense to hang out with Hakeem a bit.
And just generally, I'm sure having a better understanding of footwork in the post is a useful skill no matter where you play on the court. As you say, he does have some size and there are some smaller PGs around that in theory he could take advantage of. Might as well use the (probably very expensive) expertise the Rockets have brought on board, after all.

Howard tweet said they worked on pick n roll and post-up. One thing for sure they both work on Pick n Roll. Lin also work on post move? Not sure but he is smart enough young man to pick Dream's brain while there.
