@ RollingWave : (07 July 2013 - 12:36 AM) also, he was one of the youngest FA out there, so there's actually a chance he might improve
@ 2016Champions : (07 July 2013 - 12:29 AM) Not only does Omri knock down open shots, but he runs the floor very hard. He's slightly better than his stats indicate. I'm not saying he's a great player, but there aren't many better players available for the vet min.
@ Steven : (06 July 2013 - 09:00 PM) Casspi is just a spot filler, who will prove depth on the wings incase of injuries throughout the year. He can knock down the open jumper.
@ sircharles : (06 July 2013 - 07:30 PM) they need to sign someone a little stronger than that....
@ BenQueens : (06 July 2013 - 07:27 PM) Hmm. Looking at his shot charts, he actually looks like a 37-40% 3P shooter from the wings and the corners. Just from the top that he's weak.
@ DrewinAbilene : (06 July 2013 - 07:22 PM) Omri Casspi reportedly signing with Houston for 2 years
@ BenQueens : (06 July 2013 - 07:21 PM) Omri Casspi, apparently? Kind of surprising, thought rest of signings would be better 3P shooters.
@ sircharles : (06 July 2013 - 07:15 PM) corey brewer still available?
@ sircharles : (06 July 2013 - 07:12 PM) i wonder who else the rockets can get at decent role players
@ tombrokeoff : (06 July 2013 - 07:11 PM) whew. havent been able to log in via twitter in forever. but now its fixed.

@ DrewinAbilene : (06 July 2013 - 06:34 PM) I love Garcia! Great job by Morey to convince him to stay and compete for a ring!
@ BenQueens : (06 July 2013 - 05:30 PM) Marc Spears says he's signing for 2 years, 2.6M https://twitter.com/...563095123243008
@ ale11 : (06 July 2013 - 05:25 PM) that would be awesome. 3 and D guy, leadership role....he knew we needed the money and might be willing to sign for less, specially now that we landed dwight
@ feelingsuper... : (06 July 2013 - 05:25 PM) That is a solid move, well done Morey.
@ BenQueens : (06 July 2013 - 05:24 PM) Look like Garcia is returning. Roster taking shape.

It looks as though Royce won't be showing this summer. Ill let Royce's tweets speak for themselves:

    http://blog.chron.co...ster/

"I would've loved to play in the summer league, there's been no communication to me about being wanted there."

    "
For months comm. between me and the team has gone through the union... (Delicate Situation), everyone's doing the best they can."

    "
2 types of people... those that seek truth, and those that take convenient information then make uninformed conclusions."

I don't see the point in discussing Royce White anymore, as a member of the Houston Rockets. As far as I'm concerned, he's burned our bridge, and should be dumped as soon as possible. I doubt any other NBA team would even approach him.

I hear the Harlem Globetrotters travel mostly by bus...... Maybe Royce White's only remaining hope...... His talent set might even be a good fit.

It's Rockets news, he hasn't joined our summer league so there is a chance of movement and it's an interesting situation. Furthermore im trying to find stories that can hold me over until Friday's announcement. So calm down and contribute.

It's actually surprising that they aren't at least showcasing him n the summer league. The only thing I can think of is that they will let him drown in the D League. Since cutting him means we still pay him, why give him the opportunity at 2 paychecks? We can all be petty, given enough of a reason.

He is still on the "corporate america needs to recognize me... errrrr... reform"

        His latest tweet:

"#MentalHealth reform can not logically be ignored in any place in America, including corporations. #BeWell"

Odd, he just got any draft prospects that are "mentally ill" ignored.

once again here we are discussing the headache that is Royce White. I for one am glad that the rockets won't let him anywhere near our other young talent. one bad apple can spoil a bunch. keep him away. the fact that the rockets are only communicating with him through the NBAPA probably means he will never where a rocket jersey again unless he buys one. we are nearing the time for us to put this issue out to pasture.

Can't. You could only amnesty a contract already on the books, before the last CBA was signed.

So the amnesty deal is only good for previous contracts and then its gone forever?

Yep, that's how it works. You have to have had the player on your roster when the new CBA was signed, so you can't trade for someone and then amnesty them immediately or anything like that.

Royce's contract can have value it depends on how you look at it. this is just the wrong time of year to try and move it. teams looking to clear cap space for a run at the 2014 FA class will be looking for contracts that fall off the books this year. his contract would be worth more if we had the luxury of waiting until the trade dead line........unfortunately we don't........we could really use that cap room. we will probably have to send at least a couple of 2nd rounders just to get a team to bite. it's gonna cost.......but we can move him

Yep previous contracts from the old CBA and the team can only do it once. The Rockets have already used their amnesty on Louis Scola, so that tool is no longer available. Heck even if it was available, I think the only other person we could amnesty is Parsons.

I know this is way off topic but I really like that rule... that would get rid of some extremely overpaid players... every team gets one a year.

Not one a year, just one during the current CBA, or at least until one part decides to review the agreement, which of course will happen.
