@  Mario Peña : (10 October 2015 - 01:12 PM) If your part if the Red94 Fantasy Basketball League check the thread to vote for the date and time for the draft event. Thanks y'all!
@  jorgeaam : (07 October 2015 - 08:47 PM) Guys we need 1 more owner for the Red94 fantasy league, if interested please comment on the post in the fantasy basketball thread
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 06:50 PM) Kobe ranked one spot higher than Ariza? Is this based on legacy or...??
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 04:13 PM) It was hard to keep up with both the Astros and Rockets at the same time. Should be interesting on Thursday with the Texans and Astros on simultaneously.
@  Mario Peña : (07 October 2015 - 04:09 PM) It was fun to have the Rockets on last night! Right now I'm watching the Celtics versus Milan and Alessandro Gentile is impressive.
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Well, thinking twice about it, I'd rather have him score less and have the team as a whole do better. Lawson should take a lot of his load off
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Loving that, hope he hits 30 PPG this year
@  thejohnnygold : (06 October 2015 - 06:15 PM) Someone is feeling confident :) : LINK
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 05:54 PM) 10 Teams done, will need 2 more
@  Mario Peña : (06 October 2015 - 02:35 PM) Alright guys, if anyone is interested in joining the Red94 fantasy basketball league we could use one more player to get us to 10 teams (or three to get us to 12 teams). Just check the thread in the Fantasy Basketball forum. Thanks!
@  thejohnnygold : (05 October 2015 - 06:23 PM) I use leaguepass here in Austin with no problems...
@  skip 2 my lou : (05 October 2015 - 03:14 PM) Hey fellas, I'm a rocket fan but I live in the heart of Dallas. Does anybody know if I buy NBA Leaguepass if it's too close to be subject to blackouts?
@  Losthief : (02 October 2015 - 02:24 AM) tks jg
@  thejohnnygold : (29 September 2015 - 05:16 AM) FYI, it was media day today. Interviews are up at NBA.com
@  slick shoes : (23 September 2015 - 06:37 PM) kind of late in the day but NBATV is broadcasting classis Rockets games all day today.
@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) http://bleacherrepor...ist-after-crash
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) So to celebrate his new contract, Montrezl Harrell saved someone's life on monday
@  thejohnnygold : (14 September 2015 - 04:36 PM) A good article from Blinebury talking about when Hakeem and Moses used to play in the park. LINK
@  rockets best... : (14 September 2015 - 02:29 AM) I agree totally. I got to watch his Rocket days and the man was a hell of a player. BIG MO R.I.P.

I had trouble embracing it in the beginning, but your right we have now taken a clear direction. if we don't land our star through trade or f/a signing then we have to grow one

I agree, but we need to do something to add another C and another PG, even if Asik signs. I did like a lot of what Machado today. We have too many F and they are too valuable to just rot on the bench and I don't want to see them wait until next year's draft to try to package one or two to move up..

Completely agreed, but I'd look at it more from the big picture. The team will be god awful this year (w/out Dwight), but they'll have a direction. They'll have time to add those additional parts. In the past, we were just screwing around with 30 year olds doing nothing.

That's because the team was built around Yao. With A healthy Yao, our Rockets would have been contenders these last few years. In Moreys first full off season without Yao, he is going all out to revamp this into a different type of team. Glad for the change. They will be interesting to watch this year.

Just watched the highlights from tonights summer league game. Hard to say if I'd enjoy watching those guys play and lose more than watching Dwight (and half of Orlando's veterans) play and win...but it's really close.

I remember the day Lowry was traded. I was completely lost and still holding on to players like Scola, Dragic, Camby as well as Lowry.

A day or two later I realized that even though we all had grown attached to some of those players for their grit and blue collar work ethic I think somewhere deep down we all knew they were complimentary guys just overachieving. That was part of their charm but as we all know charm only gets you a winning record and the 14th lottery pick. I finally realized it was time to take a chance and that is where Morey was leading us. Two different paths for the Rockets future. We will either need to employ the patience of a parent with the youngsters if they lead the way or we will have to put our faith in a star we don't even know.

I am excited about both of those paths.

O I definitely get that, but having so many forwards on the team will decrease their value because they won't get any run. I'd like to see a deal involving one or two of our forwards for a #1 and a player like Zaza Pachulia (don't know what his contract looks like, but someone like him) to be the back-up C.

Alot of people are saying we are going to "suck bad" if we dont get Dwight Howard , especially when we would be going with a very very young roster . But the more I think about it , and the more I think about our rookies , I just dont see us being that bad going with a lineup of :

              PG : Lin
              SG : Lamb
              SF : Parsons
              PF : Patterson
              C : Asik

If we miss out on DH12 and we plan to tank , im afraid with a lineup like that we are going to win games . That lineup is too competitive and will likely get us another 9th place finish . Seeing our young guys and rookies play so damn well together in the summer league with chemistry and so much promise made me think about this . Like holy sh*t Jeremy Lamb can SCORE , Terrence Jones is looking like a steal already , and Royce White looks like a triple double waiting to happen every game & not to forget D-Mo looking like the next Dirk Novitzki . And now Linsanity is joining the team too ? Crazy . I dont think we can tank with this team right now so I hope Morey can somehow get us Bynum . I dont want to give up any of these young guys + more for a selfish immature child in Dwight who doesnt want to be here . I hope those trade rumors between Lakers and Magic are true so the Magic get Bynum , which allows us to get him in free agency without giving up anything ( I dont think Bynum is going to sign an extension in Orlando if that trade happens ) .

Look don't get me wrong I am really excited about most of the youngsters but I don't think that starting unit could beat Sacramento. Those are some inexperienced players that will need at least 40 games to gel not to mention adjust to the speed of the NBA game. Also, some rookies will breakdown because the NBA season is a long one that Parsons and Morris haven't even experienced though last years compressed season was a good test.

No that lineup would be right with new Orleans, sac and Portland (if they don't match batum) at the bottom of the west good for a top ten pick. Hopefully Toronto will also be around top 10 as well.

C'mon dude, Parsons has more than proved he is an NBA player. The shortened season with 4 games in 5 nights, etc. last season for the most part did not phase Parsons. Sadly, I truly believe Parsons is a goner if the Rockets somehow finagle Howard or Bynum..........

I think I agree with feelingsupersonic that we wouldn't be winning many games next year with our current starting lineup. As it stands, the team we've been running with in Summer League would pretty much be our second unit if we end up with a roster like this:

                  PG: Lin/Machado
                  SG: Martin/Lamb
                  SF: Parsons/White
                  PF: Patterson/Jones
                  C: Asik/Motiejunas

That second line has been good enough to (mostly) win in Summer League. But most other teams have not sent a team with such a huge proportion of player who will make their roster. On most squads, there are 3-4 of them at most. If you compare that backup line against other NBA second units in a couple of years, then maybe it will be good. But right now, it would get beaten badly.

Then you look at our starting unit in the above rotation and it's not going to win you that many games. Martin and Lin are the only guys there who can score, and as it stands I wouldn't trust either to do that consistently. Lin needs a good roll man to be at his most effective (IMO the reason he did so well was only partially D'Antoni's system and more that he was playing with Tyson Chandler, who excels at both the 'pick' and the 'roll' parts of that well known play).

If we don't make the Howard trade, be braced for suckage. I hope these young guys will still be entertaining when they're getting blown out, but I'm not convinced.

I like our rooks, but I agree - they won't be winning much next season. Even with Asik, we're gonna be undersized up front. But we have a ton of depth there! <end false optimism>

Assuming we don't get D12, why not just wait for next off season? Bynum will be a FA, as will Jefferson, Biedrins, the aforementioned Pachulia, and some others. All can fit into the youth model, and would be open to signing with us. And if we are lottery bound, we'll have a chance at some size coming outta college (Noels, anyone?).

Thus, completely agree - Rox are in a pretty good spot.

Agreed with most of you all above. Summer league shows us what they can become one day. But if as currently composed, this team will be dreadful next year. That's not a bad thing at all, IMHO.

Biedrins? Lol... Bynum will be back in la unless they do something that really pisses him off. Jefferson would be 30 and don't think he'd sign here anyways
Pachulia is a nice backup but someone else will overpay him.

I believe Parsons is not only an NBA player but could definitely be an important rotation player for a contender. All I am saying is even the second year guys are facing tests. 40 or 50 games in these guys may begin to pick up nagging injuries on a physical level and on a mental level may be faced with the possibility of being mentioned in trades around the deadline. The compressed season was definitely a test of stamina but the 82 game season is a different animal.

With regards to the big trade I do believe Parsons would be included not only for his value as a player and good young leader but also because he is a hometown kid being from Lake Howell in the Orlando area.
