we couldn't get nothing for him because teams figured out we might amnesty him and they could get him at 1/3 price without giving up anything. scola game has been in decline for 2 years now (IMO). he was due 10 mil a season for 2 more years with 1 mil guaranteed in 3rd year. while he will still have some production, he was no longer a good fit for us. especially with the bounty of young more athletic talent behind him. most teams figured that out and played the waiting game on us leaving us with no real choice but to follow through with the amnesty. I liked scola as a person, but he is clearly holding up progress at his position. i'm glad he went to phoenix....he deserves to go to a decent team and get meaningful pt, but his time here was up. goodbye scola.......... live long and prosperI just meant in regards to why we couldn't get much for him
you can only warn a man that the bridge is out.....if he keeps driving he's on his own
