@  Mario Peña : (10 October 2015 - 01:12 PM) If your part if the Red94 Fantasy Basketball League check the thread to vote for the date and time for the draft event. Thanks y'all!
@  jorgeaam : (07 October 2015 - 08:47 PM) Guys we need 1 more owner for the Red94 fantasy league, if interested please comment on the post in the fantasy basketball thread
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 06:50 PM) Kobe ranked one spot higher than Ariza? Is this based on legacy or...??
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 04:13 PM) It was hard to keep up with both the Astros and Rockets at the same time. Should be interesting on Thursday with the Texans and Astros on simultaneously.
@  Mario Peña : (07 October 2015 - 04:09 PM) It was fun to have the Rockets on last night! Right now I'm watching the Celtics versus Milan and Alessandro Gentile is impressive.
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Well, thinking twice about it, I'd rather have him score less and have the team as a whole do better. Lawson should take a lot of his load off
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Loving that, hope he hits 30 PPG this year
@  thejohnnygold : (06 October 2015 - 06:15 PM) Someone is feeling confident :) : LINK
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 05:54 PM) 10 Teams done, will need 2 more
@  Mario Peña : (06 October 2015 - 02:35 PM) Alright guys, if anyone is interested in joining the Red94 fantasy basketball league we could use one more player to get us to 10 teams (or three to get us to 12 teams). Just check the thread in the Fantasy Basketball forum. Thanks!
@  thejohnnygold : (05 October 2015 - 06:23 PM) I use leaguepass here in Austin with no problems...
@  skip 2 my lou : (05 October 2015 - 03:14 PM) Hey fellas, I'm a rocket fan but I live in the heart of Dallas. Does anybody know if I buy NBA Leaguepass if it's too close to be subject to blackouts?
@  Losthief : (02 October 2015 - 02:24 AM) tks jg
@  thejohnnygold : (29 September 2015 - 05:16 AM) FYI, it was media day today. Interviews are up at NBA.com
@  slick shoes : (23 September 2015 - 06:37 PM) kind of late in the day but NBATV is broadcasting classis Rockets games all day today.
@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) http://bleacherrepor...ist-after-crash
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) So to celebrate his new contract, Montrezl Harrell saved someone's life on monday
@  thejohnnygold : (14 September 2015 - 04:36 PM) A good article from Blinebury talking about when Hakeem and Moses used to play in the park. LINK
@  rockets best... : (14 September 2015 - 02:29 AM) I agree totally. I got to watch his Rocket days and the man was a hell of a player. BIG MO R.I.P.

I'm going to be at Toyota Center today for the meeting with the summer league players. I'll put the videos up on the front page and I guess link to that in this thread. Any questions I should ask anyone? It starts at 12:30.

D-Mo : How do you pronounce your name? Is it ok if we call you d-mo?

White : Favorite John Lennon song?

Lamb / jones : can I wear your championship ring?

White : feel like playing PG this year?

Eli Holman: If there is one specific part of your offensive game you can improve in between now and when NBA training camps start what will it be? If you made the Rockets roster and played for the Rockets as well as occasionally playing with the Vipers what part of your game would you focus on next summer?
(I am wondering if he is thinking about his jumper more or his back to the basket game...)

Donatus Motiejunas: If there is one center or power forward in the NBA you would model your game after who would that be? Any plans to work out with Hakeem Olajuwon on your post game?

Royce White: How familiar are you with the Rockets organization and coaching staff? What do you think about coach McHale and Sampson? How would you approach playing for the Vipers in the D-league this year?

lol approach playing for the Vipers, if i was White, i would tell supersonic to shove it with the d-league questions. It must be the dream of every kid to get drafted by an NBA team so as to get stuck in the d-league, oh wait, thats just what happens when you are a rocket rookie

Firstly I am not asking the questions.

Beyond that I would be interested in how he responds specifically because he is relatively cerebral. Whether he says he is better than the D league or if he is willing to refine his game down there will be telling.

There is nothing wrong with minor leagues. They exist all over the world in all kinds of sports. Your uncharismatic tendency to distort and take portions of comments out of context is off putting and humorous at best but thanks for standing up for those poor NBA players who have to go play in the D league for a few games. Your charmless fodder reminds us that yes we do have one of those guys here at Red94, thanks for doing your part.

Several teams consistently put their rookies in the d league. Even if its sub par talent that they are playing with/against its better than sitting on the end of the bench without any pt. Obviously the players aren't going to be ecstatic about playing there, but they'd certainly rather that than being given NO chance in the NBA altogether and just waived.

            Questions:

D-Mo: if Dwight Howard was here, would you stand by your "Catch me if you can" comments from last year?

Marcus Morris: How big a chip do you have on your shoulder after not getting to play much your rookie year? Can we expect to see you in full eff-you mode during summer league?

Lamb: How comfortable do you feel guarding PGs? (because if White runs the point, Lamb will have to guard them)

White and Jones: Have you mentally prepared for the possibility of playing in the D-League?

Jerai Grant: Did you know there is one guy on the planet who is both a Clemson fan and a Rockets fan? His username is Jeby and he says "Good luck."

Whats with the kindergarten questions. What does he think about coach McHale- he sucks, everyone knows that, do you need a rookie to tell u that. what in the pink hell gave you the inclination that he might not be the breakout player that makes the team, why does he have to get the d-league question.

How many rockets players have been sent to the d-league and they averaged crazy numbers playing against the supbar talent which never translated to NBA games.
The Rockets heavily utilize their d-league, not because they need to in my opinion, but because they actually own a d-league team unlike most NBA teams and want to feel like they r using it for something.

Oh and please don't even compare the d-league to minors. Several NBA coaches, gms etc have said that the d-league does not even compare to college ball and european leagues. If you say minor leagues, someone might think its like mlb minors.

Those are great questions Jeby. I would be very interested in if Lamb is aware of the situation and/or prepared (for a possible lack of point guards or even covering for undersized 1's we might end with on the roster.)

D-Mo : how has your game improved spending the lockout season playing overseas?

Morris : Having experienced a season, what area do you wanna expand in your game?

Lamb : Did you prefer being the go-to guy, or being able to work off of someone?

Jones : You ready to throw one down over Davis?

White : what book would you suggest in my summer reading list? Have you had a sit down with Arian foster yet?

I don't suppose any of us would say the NBDL is of high quality, but its not to say players don't benefit from playing there either. Someone already made the point its better to be playing some ball against a lesser talent than to play no ball at all. As far as I know, one of the main reasons the Rockets were keen on owning their NBDL team was so they could implement their own playbook on a lower level, so as to familiarize any players sent down there with the system. That way should they crack the rotation they have more experience than just practice.

              All that aside, questions!

For DMo: How would you feel logging significant minutes at center? Is this something you could make a permanent move to? What are your preferences? What adjustments do YOU think you will have to make coming to the NBA?

For White: How would you feel handling a good portion of playmaking for this team considering our current lack of depth at point guard?

NVM, i just realized this presser starts at 12:30. Oh well.

Jeremy Lamb : ( Q 1 ) How would you adapt your game and how would you approach the situation if you was given the opportunity to get heavy starter minutes and to be the go-to-guy in houston ?

( Q 2 ) : Has any teammate or player currently on the Rockets roster gave you advice on what it takes to be a successful basketball player in this league ?

( Q 3 ) : Are you more comfortable trying to get your own shot off and creating offense for yourself or are you more comfortable being set up by a good point guard and coming off screens ?

I really want to know where this guy's mindset is at and what level his confidence is on . Because I really think hes going to be special and he has the best potential out of all our rookies to be a star in this league . ( as you can see, my post has no kindergarden or d-league questions .. just saying )
