@  thejohnnygold : (29 September 2015 - 05:16 AM) FYI, it was media day today. Interviews are up at NBA.com
@  slick shoes : (23 September 2015 - 06:37 PM) kind of late in the day but NBATV is broadcasting classis Rockets games all day today.
@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) http://bleacherrepor...ist-after-crash
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) So to celebrate his new contract, Montrezl Harrell saved someone's life on monday
@  thejohnnygold : (14 September 2015 - 04:36 PM) A good article from Blinebury talking about when Hakeem and Moses used to play in the park. LINK
@  rockets best... : (14 September 2015 - 02:29 AM) I agree totally. I got to watch his Rocket days and the man was a hell of a player. BIG MO R.I.P.
@  Mario Peña : (13 September 2015 - 05:24 PM) Sad to see Moses pass. I don't remember watching him as a Rocket but I do remember his Philly and Hawks teams. He was the perfect man to mentor Dream. It's a very sad day for his family and friends and there are many.
@  majik19 : (12 September 2015 - 09:01 PM) i just saw a post wishing Yao Ming a happy 35th birthday... am I the only one whose mind is blown that he's only 35?
@  cointurtlemoose : (08 September 2015 - 01:17 AM) aaaah, thanks jorge
@  jorgeaam : (08 September 2015 - 12:21 AM) Love it how Hinkie and Morey always target the same players, but hoping he isn't another Covington
@  thejohnnygold : (08 September 2015 - 12:03 AM) Christian Wood has signed with Philly
@  jorgeaam : (07 September 2015 - 10:32 PM) If I'm not wrong, he hasn't been waived yet, they have until october 4th to do that
@  cointurtlemoose : (07 September 2015 - 05:39 PM) Anyone else surprised that Kostas hasn't gotten picked up by anyone yet? I wanna see that guy play somewhere
@  redfaithful : (05 September 2015 - 10:48 PM) Llull line from today loss to Serbia: 30MIN 1-10PG, 0-5 3PG, 4-4FT 6AST, 1TO, 4REB, +/- -11
@  Losthief : (03 September 2015 - 02:27 AM) this dude's gun fired and all he got a misdemeanor at bush lol: http://abc13.com/new...ush-iah/815795/

I completely agree with this. He's so much better than Scola that it's not even funny. But having said that, I just don't feel its anywhere near enough to take on a player of his age. I'd much rather go young with the draft picks.

But if the alternative is keeping Scola? They're the same age, price is better on scola but quality is also far lower. It's not a championship move alone, but with the right additions alongside.. maybe a mid-odds contender?

See, but with Gasol, Scola would no longer be useful and everyone wants to see Martin gone anyway. So the only thing you are really losing is the 12th pick, but I doubt the Rockets are looking to bring in 4 rooks this year (if you count Motie), and they may not even want to bring in 3.

ok so im not totally against that.....

If we trade the 12 for gasol that would be extremely disappointing. Gasol gets us the 8th seed if we are lucky whooohoo! I'd rather roll with who we get with the pick and try to dump scola on who we trade Lowry to or even amnesty scola if it comes to that.

That's why if it comes down to Gasol, we MUST pair him with something, high pick or another established vet.

          Mid-morning thoughts:

Still nothing new, though Yahoo's Marc Spears just tweeted that the Kings will not be trading the 5th pick until they see who is still available. That could be significant. It would get unreal if the Kings were on the clock, a trade with Houston were announced, and then minutes later, a trade between Houston and Orlando were announced. Though my guess is that in that scenario, the Kings would just make the pick for Orlando and everything would be announced altogether later. That seems to be how things are going in recent years.

After sifting through the various permutations in my head all morning, I think the only way I could be disappointed tonight were if Pau Gasol were the sole acquisition. Of course, he could also be coupled with a free agent later in the summer. But having just Gasol and uncertainty would be quite a letdown. Like I've said, I think I'd rather just keep the picks.

Not much else for now. Stay tuned.

The main reason why I want the Rockets to get Howard is because if he leaves after a year that will probably put the Rockets at the bottom of the NBA giving them a real shot at drafting the next star. Whatever they do I am sick of being the best worst team in the NBA. Looks like the Bobcats have offers for their #2 pick. Come on Morey, work your magic!

Getting Gasol and that's it I still don't see us getting into the playoffs. I'd rather take a shot and just draft since it's very deep this year.

Well it's been said from a Howard source that he will not resign with Houston if traded to us. I say it's worth the risk even if he bails since our model of being the best worst team in the NBA will NEVER win you a championship.

Why shouldn't Dwight re-sign with us if he gets traded here. Houston has a legacy of great big-men and kevin mchale is one of the greats. Plus we would have a good supporting cast to win.

We can actually use Howard in a sign and trade should he decide not to come here, that way, he gets max salary and years, while we get something from his new team.
But thats not the issue, the issue is will Orlando trade him and will Howard allow them to trade him to Houston

Someone mentioned the other day that he might not want to be cast as the little brother to Hakeem. Given DHs child-like demeanor it could definitely be the case. Although anyone with a mature point of view would agree with your point, why not be the next great big man for a franchise with that lineage?

I have a feeling that the Kings miss out on who they think will drop to five. They do not want Drummond, Davis gone at one, Robinson gone at 2, Beal 3, Barnes 4. Does Sac want MKG? If not and if we cant get Dwight, we should drop a blockbuster of a trade for Cousins, Evans and the 5th for Martin, Lowry, 12th, 16th and the 18th. maybe more if needed.

They won't trade Cousins. He's their untouchable piece, Evans can be had tho for the right package but do you really want Evans. He comes with mucho baggage and is not really an all star caliber player

Kings woudlnt ever trade cousins, my problem with Evans is he thinks he's a lot better than he really is. Lowry and one of our picks for 5 should work if the kings don't have a chance at the player they want (maybe barnes?)

I think offfering the three draft poicks, Kyle lowery, and Martin is great deal for Dwight Howard. I'm really not getting the stratedgy. I don't like Pau Gasol if we get him tonight, I like Josh Smith in terms that he was probably the best player on the hawks last year and he is a one year deal.

Evans Has had only two years in the league. The kid was Rookie of the Year with 20PPG 5APG and 5RPG. He was one of like 4 or 5 players to ever do that as a rookie. he then got injured and they moved his position while adding Thorton (who came out of nowhere as a scorer), Thomas (out of nowhere as a PG), Salmons (taking up PT) and moved the kid to the three position when he is not familiar with that role. Why is he being thrown off the bus before given a chance to blossom? He played for the SACRAMENTO SUCKS KINGS, who stock pile players and have no idea how to organize a team (all bad attitudes, signing TWill and playing him at the 3 position with Evans). Let the guy settle in to a starting role at a two or even back up dragic at PG. lets give Evans a chance people!

Would you rather play for the Yankees, Red Sox or Astros? If we are all honest here the size of the city doesn't matter. Boston is smaller but globally a bigger market. If you have a shot at the Lakers or Boston or Chicao those are the elite historical teams. It has history and cache and better opportunities. Could you imagine say if Hakeem played for the Lakers? He would automatically be deemed one of the best Centers.

Orlando knows this is Howard's last year so it's either the draft or they'll probably get nothing or much less.
I'd take Gasol over Smith, at least Gasol gives 100% and a likeable guy while Smith has shown he has the talent but isn't interested in giving 100% percent.
