@  jorgeaam : (07 October 2015 - 08:47 PM) Guys we need 1 more owner for the Red94 fantasy league, if interested please comment on the post in the fantasy basketball thread
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 06:50 PM) Kobe ranked one spot higher than Ariza? Is this based on legacy or...??
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 04:13 PM) It was hard to keep up with both the Astros and Rockets at the same time. Should be interesting on Thursday with the Texans and Astros on simultaneously.
@  Mario Peña : (07 October 2015 - 04:09 PM) It was fun to have the Rockets on last night! Right now I'm watching the Celtics versus Milan and Alessandro Gentile is impressive.
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Well, thinking twice about it, I'd rather have him score less and have the team as a whole do better. Lawson should take a lot of his load off
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Loving that, hope he hits 30 PPG this year
@  thejohnnygold : (06 October 2015 - 06:15 PM) Someone is feeling confident :) : LINK
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 05:54 PM) 10 Teams done, will need 2 more
@  Mario Peña : (06 October 2015 - 02:35 PM) Alright guys, if anyone is interested in joining the Red94 fantasy basketball league we could use one more player to get us to 10 teams (or three to get us to 12 teams). Just check the thread in the Fantasy Basketball forum. Thanks!
@  thejohnnygold : (05 October 2015 - 06:23 PM) I use leaguepass here in Austin with no problems...
@  skip 2 my lou : (05 October 2015 - 03:14 PM) Hey fellas, I'm a rocket fan but I live in the heart of Dallas. Does anybody know if I buy NBA Leaguepass if it's too close to be subject to blackouts?
@  Losthief : (02 October 2015 - 02:24 AM) tks jg
@  thejohnnygold : (29 September 2015 - 05:16 AM) FYI, it was media day today. Interviews are up at NBA.com
@  slick shoes : (23 September 2015 - 06:37 PM) kind of late in the day but NBATV is broadcasting classis Rockets games all day today.
@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.

@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) So to celebrate his new contract, Montrezl Harrell saved someone's life on monday
@  thejohnnygold : (14 September 2015 - 04:36 PM) A good article from Blinebury talking about when Hakeem and Moses used to play in the park. LINK
@  rockets best... : (14 September 2015 - 02:29 AM) I agree totally. I got to watch his Rocket days and the man was a hell of a player. BIG MO R.I.P.

What bad contracts do the kings have that you'd think could be included? Id look but from my phone it takes a lot more effort and time. If its true though why isnt it done already!

Salmons or Garcia would be my guess. Salmons is making more and has more value as a player, Garcia's deal expires after next year though.

Wow! I'd be shocked if that's all it takes to get the #5. Though I'm sure we'd be taking back a bad contract too to offset Dally, which is fine by me.

I think by now Morey giggles and rubs his hands together whenever he gets a phone call from Sacramento.

Boy , I havent been this excited for the rockets since the 08-09 playoffs . We couldve really won a championship that year if Yao didnt get injured . Anyways , i'd be extremely happy with either Dwight or both top 8 picks

By the way , if we were to aquire Dwight Howard , I have a good feeling Morey will do what it takes and sign an all star caliber player to make DH12 sign an extension . Some names that come up are Rudy Gay , Tyreke Evans , Danny Granger , and Andre Igudola . And out of those names the one we should go after is Tyreke Evans for our 2 guard position because i dont want to give up Parsons . This would be our 2012-2013 starting lineup :

        PG- Goran Dragic
        SG- Tyreke Evans
        SF- Chandler Parsons
        PF- Patrick Patterson
        C- Dwight Howard

That team would no doubt be at least a top 4 team in the West . Im just stating the player Morey should go after if we actually get Dwight , which is Tyreke Evans , so he would sign a long term deal with us . But even if Morey was to pull off aquiring just Dwight Howard , that would stop the critics who say Daryl Morey and Les Alexander dont care about winning and that Morey is a bad/ mediocre GM .

I do not think Tyreke Evans is anywhere near the caliber player Dwight expects to be paired with for a long term deal. I actually do not think any of the four players listed are going to be enough honestly. Also, Dwight is good friends with Courtney Lee, pushing his friend back onto the bench(or letting him go in FA) could be yet another blow against Dwight resigning.

I think that Dwight/Parsons/Lee/Dragic pretty much guarantees a top-4 finish. The question is whether that's enough to convince him to stay.

Of course you take Howard over the 2 picks. I also think it's what the Rockets would do given that Les Alexander has shown his distaste for the idea of a full-blown rebuilding, and any plan that adds two more rookies to the rotation (and especially Drummond who likely won't even be an average NBA player for several seasons) would mean a serious rebuilding strategy was underway.

I'd guess a 3-6 finish, I still think OKC wins the West and as for #2 the Spurs with one last run(for the hundredth time).
By leaving out a PF Im guessing you think we need to make a move there to get the all-star he wants to play with? Sounds like Gasol would be a stretch if Howard works out(assuming we'd have no picks left, no lowry, and whatever else we give).
As far as Free Agent PF's go we have:
Garnett(you mentioned on Twitter)-Best case scenario in my opinion.
                Duncan-Not really a free agent...everyone knows he's a spur for life
Ilyasova-I'd pass. Id rather see what Motie has(if we retained him)
Ryan Anderson- Played better w/o Howard, so no thanks
Humphries- maybe second best choice aside from Garnett
Landry- IDK how he'd feel about a return, I'd rather see what Motie's got though.
Bass- everything points to him remaining a Celtic
Kenyon Martin- that makes for a tough front-court that I'd watch for sure.

I realize not all of the ones listed are all-stars or even that caliber but they are the top of the FA PF's in my opinion(not in that order though).

That list of potential power fowards that we could sign dont excite or interest me & I dont think either one of them will make him stay . Which is why I believe we should aquire a young wing player with all star caliber like Rudy Gay or Tyreke Evans . Either one of those players will get Dwight Howard's signature on that contract extension .. but I also believe what rahat said . Rahat pointed out that a Howard/ Parsons / Lee / Dragic lineup would get us possibily a 3rd seed so if all Dwight Howard cares about is winning then we dont need to worry about him not staying . But still , Dwight doesnt just want to be a 3rd seed team in the west for the rest of his career and neither do rocket fans . We need a championship and with a Howard , Parsons , Lee , Dragic lineup that would be very difficult . So I honestly believe that the last piece to get over that 3rd seed hump would be the signing of one more all star or all star caliber player .

That's the sole reason I only listed the free agents. As far as if morey can get dwight he could easily get Gay, with assets sure...the problem is having too few left to part with. Free agents become our best way of acquiring a solid player. And i disagree Garnett would give us Howard, Camby, Garnett, and possibly scola/motie/Patt depending on who is left. That would be the best front in the game. And the only reason i only listed PFs is because that was the only spot open unless youre moving parsons to the 4, which is absurd.

Anderson played much much worse without Howard. Has no ability to create his own shot which is why he played well with Howard as a spot up shooter.

Since we are all speculating about Thursday, I have a name to throw out there IF d-morey can land d12 before the beginning on FA and not having to give up more than dally Lowry and picks, PG deron Williams. (Can amnesty the contract they get from sac-town.) He wants to play with d12 but doesn't want to wait to see where he lands. The rockets could trade k-mart and/or scola to free up cap space to sign Williams to the max deal. resigning C-lee and Camby

                        PG - Williams
                        SG - Lee
                        SF - Parsons
                        PF - Patterson
                        C- Howard

With Camby the backup big. Bud/ Morris the backup wing. Monte backup big. All that's missing is a backup pg.

Deron has said his only two options are nets and mavs. And he's actually an unrestricted free aget unlike Howard and there has 100% control over where he goes.
Also, the relationship between him n Howard got icy after Howard failed to opt out.
I think Howard was caught between promises to Williams and trying to be a good guy for Orlando. However the manner in which he was vilified especially by van gundy and management has led to be strongly against the magic. But since he gave up his right to free agency, he has no right over where he ends up even tho he's threatening not to resign.

We have no shot at Williams. If he can't get Howard or another star in Brooklyn to start a new dynasty in a new town, he's going to dallas to team up with nowitzki

Howard and dwill want to play together if howard signs and extension we would have a shot at dwill. The mavs don't have much room to improve dirk is old and so is just about everyone on that team. Houston would have to be an option for dwill.

Even if we somehow got the 8 and 5 I wouldn't mind keeping them and getting Drummond and Waiters. Of course if it was for an extended Dwight I would rather have him but for a rental when we would basically have Dwight 2.0 in Drummond it would be a tough decision.
