I never never like to defend Red Stewie, but in this case everyone seems to be arguing Parsons will be better than Gay in a few years. I think this disregards two things. Stewie brings up a single very good point. Parsons cannot be your offensive creator now. I don't believe he will ever have that ability.
I think we should also realize that Parsons who already plays mentally sound like Patterson is more than likely not going to have a huge jump in productivity. His shot will clean up some, but he isn't going to become a great shooter (hopefully good) and he certainly isn't suddenly going to have an NBA level ability to dribble and break down defenders.
Thus I think Red Stewie is right about us being a little too in love with Chandler Parsons and while we shouldn't get Rudy Gay because of his contract. If they had the same contract today, or even were withing the same order of magnitude then it would be a sound trade.
To win in the NBA you need someone that can score in isolation and then you need to come up with good schemes to let them attack and break down a defense. You do need to play good defense, but unless you can win a one on one matchup you won't ever amount to anything.
You also need an elite defender. Those are really hard to come by. Most players will be looking at LBJ's butt crack. How many teams have one? SA, OKC, Memphis, Philly, ??? There are more but I cannot think of them right now.

Help yourself son. If your former posts were anything about your effective writing prowess including the line "Parsons is a rare commodity.", then i'd hate to see what you sounded like before you became effective.Stewie - I can help you to become a much more effective poster. You would not be the subject to such distain.
Oh and the disdain don't bother me. Sometimes some people prefer lies and half-truths instead of embracing the truth- so i will speak the truth and disdain be damned. I don't hold my tongue for nobody, God or human.

Stewie - you are irrelevant. You now nothing - Lee on Kobe LOL. Damn do you even watch NBA games? Statements like that just show everyone that you don't have a clue. So please go away. I offered to help you and you refused. Good bye.

Lee had 2 quick fouls, got sent to the bench and Parsons was relegated to guard him.
And then the next game, the coach relegated Parsons to guard Kobe again cos he was effective last game, but still switched with Lee during the game.
Which makes total sense because they play different positions.
Quick question dumbEastern- if the Rockets played the Heat or the Knicks, what position do you think Parsons would be guarding- SG or SF.
Try not to think too hard genius

I thought it was funny that I was called a groupie and that I agree with everything you say Blake because I distinctly remembering debating the merits of the Rockets persuing Bosh and Amare and disagreeing with you yet we found a civil way to disagree.
And just in case it was not clear, I never said Parsons was or will be better than Gay. (a statement I have already posted)

That question is so trivial I cannot believe you even asked it. LBJ and Melo dude. And I typed in 2 sentences that I erased. They were way to harsh.

Yep, I appreciate conflicting opinions backed with facts, analysis, and hypothesis, but I will not be disrespected. There is a way to civilly debate topics, sadly though some people require a more harsh introduction to reality. If you could keep the exchanges here civil and mature that would be great Huq. That seems to be a great thing about this forum.

This site is directed at the intelligent die-hard fans, you don't just stumble upon it like the other sites. The fact that there are only about ten active/quality posters here shows how dedicated we all are, one person ruining that isn't right.
Anyways, Parsons > Gay as far as the Rockets are concerned((((((In my opinion))))))

Alright guys, let's try and maintain some civility. As this is the newest, smallest, Rockets community, I don't want to lose that intimacy we had enjoyed before the first season (with the forum) even begins.
I have bit my tongue so many times now ... if you want I will leave. Not a problem.

Come on Rahat, the name calling wasn't one-sided, it was coming on from both sides. Not directed at you. We all know who the instigator has been.
I didn't call any names, until I was being told I was dumb or stupid when it comes to basketball and other stuff.
Although enough with the he said, she said. I'm done with this.
Its not like Rudy Gay is going cut me a check for defending him or Parsons is gonna come to your homecoming dance NorEastern.
So lets just leave it at that

There you go again with that BS, everything that comes out of your mouth is a fact.I am totally OK with any and everyone's opinion. If it is stated as an opinion. But when it is stated as fact I have a hard time leaving the ignorance alone. Parsons did not guard Kobe because he is a SG. LOL. He gave up any and all cred he had with that 1 simple statement. And then he just keeps coming back for more. Like I said - more than happy to leave if you want me to. But why would you ever go with ignorant quantity and not quality I will never know.
Everything else you disagree with is an opinion.
I said Parson doesn't guard Kobee, not that Parson never guarded Kobe- why?
Because they play different positions- THATS A FACT
Kobe is traditionally guarded by lee ever since Battier left.- ANOTHER FACT.
C. Lee got into foul trouble and Parson guarded Kobe while he was- ANOTHER FACT
After the game, Kobe appluaded Parsons for his defense- Another FACT.
If C.Lee was never in foul trouble, he would have guarded Kobe all game- OPINION.

Dude, listen to me. Go to the nearest high window, open it and jump off with your over-important selfAnd I do have articles already prepped for publishing. Like how do you value picks in the 2012 draft. Lots of tables and graphs. But that is what I do best.
If you don't die or break any of your legs the first time- repeat multiple times until you achieve said results.
You got articles prepped- ok STEPHEN A SMITH. At the end of the day, it is your freaking opinion.
If you're gonna call someone else ignorant or stupid, then i don't know why any one else is coming to your defense if not for the fact that they are die-hard homers.
I know where you can shove your graphs and charts.
You make it sound like you're too important. I think someone lied to you
