@  slick shoes : (21 June 2017 - 04:28 PM) Morey is locked in for four more years. Glad to have some stability at the helm after everything we've seen the last couple of weeks.
@  slick shoes : (16 June 2017 - 04:31 PM) It's a shame we don't have a first rounder this year. I did notice that the W's and the Cavs have 0 picks this year (not that they need them).
@  thejohnnygold : (16 June 2017 - 03:57 PM) Whoever picks him is going to be a happy camper
@  slick shoes : (16 June 2017 - 02:00 PM) De'Aaron Fox giving Bev a shout at the end of this piece

@  slick shoes : (22 May 2017 - 05:25 PM) I can't decide if I want them to draft Ball or not.
@  thejohnnygold : (21 May 2017 - 02:50 PM) Don't worry...they'll find a way to screw it up.
@  slick shoes : (17 May 2017 - 03:52 PM) Is anyone else annoyed that the league reached out and helped the Lakers secure a top 3 pick to keep them from long term ruin?
@  Mario Peña : (13 May 2017 - 11:56 AM) It would appear James will take games off next year which is probably a good thing. Perhaps we will see some evolution from emphasis on regular season to being playoff ready both from a physical as well as a strategy standpoint.
@  rocketrick : (12 May 2017 - 05:26 AM) I personally will be rooting for the Spurs in their next matchup with Golden State in the Western Conference Finals
@  rocketrick : (12 May 2017 - 05:26 AM) Congratulations to the Spurs and Coach Pop. They completely destroyed the Rockets last night (understatement of the year)
@  DenverRocket : (12 May 2017 - 02:55 AM) Very disappointing end to an otherwise great season.
@  DenverRocket : (12 May 2017 - 01:10 AM) Stunningly bad. Out played, out coached and no one is stepping up :-(
@  slick shoes : (12 May 2017 - 01:07 AM) Well, it can't get any worse right?
@  slick shoes : (12 May 2017 - 12:35 AM) It's like Dekker has been waiting to play or something.
@  08huangj : (11 May 2017 - 12:08 PM) It is utterly baffling to me why MDA is not utilizing Dekker and Harrell. These two were integral to our dominant regular season bench!
@  DenverRocket : (10 May 2017 - 03:18 AM) Everything the TNT analysts said, I was screaming during OT. MDA blamed it on fatigue - no kidding sherlock, when you only use a 7 player rotation!
@  DenverRocket : (10 May 2017 - 03:17 AM) Sorely disappointed with that. Huge missed opportunity. I thought McHale was coaching again in overtime!
@  slick shoes : (10 May 2017 - 03:02 AM) No offensive scheme in overtime. No Parker, and no Leonard through all of overtime and you STILL can't close it out?!
@  thejohnnygold : (10 May 2017 - 02:57 AM) So much profanity in my home tonight...
@  Mario Peña : (08 May 2017 - 06:57 PM) Right Johnnygold! That was a good game!

@JG

that's my fear with D-Mo. I think some other team will come calling. like I said before we are not the only ones who have been watching his progress. even with the back issue I think some GM will be unable to resist the chance of nabbing him at under market value based on his potential, hoping his back issues can at least be managed. I think the Rockets are in that flexibility frame of mind AGAIN and may view him as a plan C option come summer time and lose him while chasing bigger fish. a lot depends on this end of the season run because I'm sure the Rockets will base summer personnel decisions off what they think they see. I saw an interview with JBB yesterday where he said D-Mo would play a few more games in the D-league? I thought he was ready to go?

Who knows?  Morey just said they were going to re-evaluate him (due diligence) before letting him hit the floor.

I've got a feeling that if he shows signs of life Boston will be the team that shows up first.  D-Mo would be awesome for Stevens and could immediately slide into the starting line-up.  He and Olynyk make for a fascinating front court pairing.  What you lose in athleticism you get back in height, skills, and smarts.

Boston has a lot of money available and unless Kevin Love is an option I think they use that money to re-sign Crowder and add a center like Pachulia, Ezeli, or Mahinmi.  I think they'll test the waters with Drummond, but I don't get the feeling he will leave Detroit.

I'm really keeping an eye on Boston because they have some interesting choices to make with so many draft picks and a ton of cap space.  I think they will keep Amir Johnson for potential trade filler.  Jerebko?  I'd say that's 60/40 that they keep him.  Assuming that, they have 4 open roster spots and 3 first round picks (BKN, DAL, and their own) to fill them.  That, conveniently, leaves room (and money) to sign one stud free agent if one should show interest.

Dwight Howard in Celtic green?  Doubtful, but the fact that they had so much trade discussion is interesting.  Horford?  Whiteside?  I don't know, but I think Stevens throws down some cash on a center (or two) this Summer....or maybe he tries to emulate GS and gives Barnes a max, moves Crowder to the front court, and signs a Pachulia or D-Mo.

Sorry for the long Celtic post...it's sort of D-Mo related  :)

Boston does have money to spend, but so do a lot of teams this summer. considering how valued big men are who can walk and chew gum at the same time D-Mo will have no shortage of interested suitors. the only question is what will they come offering? D-Mo is young so he doesn't have this ( I must play for a championship contender) thing locked in his head which can open the door to teams who normally wouldn't bein the running. the Rockets better than any team knows D-Mo's potential.........the fact that they were willing to part with him rather than face resigning him during the off season does say something about their feelings. sign and trade is pretty much out because so many teams have cap room, so if we don't retail him it's likely we loose him for nothing. this whole situation has made an already cloudy off season even cloudier.

Oh yeah--I agree he will receive multiple offers.  Phoenix (and their ballyhooed training staff).  Philly (which needs a stretch big to go with Okafor and knows all too well his talent).  Maybe New York thinks about pairing him with Porzingis and having two incredibly skilled and versatile bigs.  It's tough to guess who is scared of his injury and who is willing to gamble.

Part of me wonders if Morey shuts him down for the year for this reason.  A lot of teams will get scared off if they don't get to see proof he can play.

This could get uglier though, if Dmo is healthy, or healthy enough and wants to play and the Rockets hold him back, I could see DMo coming out and saying something about it.

They should have NEVER traded Dmo in the first place, young bigs like him are not a dime a dozen, those are the kinds of players your roll the dice with and HOPE he recovers.

Hell Dwight had a much worse back surgery when he was 26 and got a Max contract from the Rockets.

To me, this screams CHEAPSKATE from Les and the Org. It is Parsons all over, we will never get our Draymond Green because Morey will flip him for a pick kicking that can further down the road.

Honestly, I want him gone.

-I'm drooling at the thought of a D-Mo/Porzingis pairing.

I know!  That would be a nightmare for opposing front courts.

I actually don't recall much about the Landry negotiations...not sure what I was doing back then, but I guess I missed it.

That D-Mo/Porzingis pairing is exactly what a team could use to bust the Warriors "small ball".  Most of us know that small ball is more about covering the floor with skill (which typically leads to smaller units, but is not predicated on it).  Once a team can construct a group that has both...watch out.

Imagine a squad with D-Mo, Porzingis, then Durant, and a Mario Hezonja (who looks like he will pan out).  Pick a PG.  I think Rondo would be awesome in that group...maybe Rubio.  I'd want a truly gifted passer.

They would get beat at times in transition and blown by occasionally (who doesn't?), but if they can limit those 2 things how can any team compete?  Just play off of everyone, crowd the paint, force jumpers, contest, contest, contest, and grab ALL the rebounds.

Everyone is looking for another Draymond....I'm looking for more D-Mo's.  Apparently, Dragan Bender is better than Porzingis.  This short video is very intriguing.
