@  thenit : (03 December 2015 - 05:38 AM) Not a complete game, but the effort was there, and voila we are at least competitive even when we arent playing well
@  cointurtlemoose : (03 December 2015 - 04:44 AM) Corey Brewer went from being absolutely horrible (whole season) to being the Corey Brewer that we all remember and love (tonight)!
@  thenit : (03 December 2015 - 03:02 AM) yep and lawson is having his bst game so far in the season
@  slick shoes : (03 December 2015 - 02:53 AM) it's crazy what happens when the rockets play defense.
@  thenit : (03 December 2015 - 01:46 AM) Not looking good after the 1st Q tonight either.
@  thenit : (01 December 2015 - 04:56 AM) It doesnt help when Bev looks like he lost a step since the surgery and now we have 2 wing defenders who can't defend. So Bev has become Lin with worse offensive skills and shooting
@  thenit : (01 December 2015 - 04:55 AM) Thought last year he finally got it by at least exerting effort and by seeing the results he will be even more willing to play a two way game. Sadly I was completely wrong, he is worse than his first year here
@  thenit : (01 December 2015 - 04:53 AM) Harden is the new Carmelo, high volume usage, scorer, with no D and effort. Will never win a championship with him
@  thenit : (01 December 2015 - 04:52 AM) Its the curse of the Kardashian clan, seriously though Harden can score 80 and it still be close because he doesn't defend. Too many times he just stands there. Not even trying, fame has gone to his head.
@  Jatman20 : (01 December 2015 - 04:08 AM) Opps....on us
@  Jatman20 : (01 December 2015 - 04:07 AM) Rockets have gone Wizard of Oz no us !! No Heart (Harden still looks heartbroken over Chloe), No courage and No Brains (Bickerstaff is less of a coach than McHale at this stage in their careers).
@  majik19 : (01 December 2015 - 03:29 AM) We should've fired Bickerstaff, not McHale. Our defense is killing us.
@  Jatman20 : (01 December 2015 - 02:54 AM) Time to go scorched earth on the Rockets roster!!
@  Cooper : (01 December 2015 - 02:28 AM) on the semi plus side Lawson doesn't look like the absolute worst player in the league.
@  Willk : (01 December 2015 - 01:29 AM) this team needs to be booed from the start of the game to the end of the game during their next home game. This effort is pathetic
@  cointurtlemoose : (30 November 2015 - 03:32 AM) A mix of really bad and really good tonight, but it was a gutsy comeback!
@  slick shoes : (30 November 2015 - 01:38 AM) that was more of a rhetorical question, but good to see you're on your game ;)
@  jorgeaam : (29 November 2015 - 08:12 PM) 7/12 shooting from the field, 8/9 from the line
@  jorgeaam : (29 November 2015 - 08:12 PM) 6, he also had 5 assists and 7 rebounds
@  slick shoes : (29 November 2015 - 05:46 PM) how many treys did Covington bury?

I don't see a possibility of OKC being able to keep both Harden sand Ibaka due to cap, which are they better off keeping? I assume the majority will say Harden, but I'm not so sure. Id be thrilled if we were able to get either of them.

Bored at work need a good argument.

I believe they will keep harden, but if they win the championship they will ante up and keep both. I don't think Ibaka can help us all that much . he would be a very nice defensive player, but since we don't have durant or westbrook we need someone who not only is good defensively but also offensively. he would tie up to much money on a 1 trick pony

Id rather Ibaka than Scola on Scolas current contract. Believe it or not he's a much better scorer than he gets credit for in the box score, his main weakness is moving with the ball and passing, but that's most all big guys.. His defense and shot blocking ability would be a huge help to our inside presence, which leaves us to find a replacement elsewhere for the 6pts/40mins between he and Scola. Hoopshype is wrong on their salaries for OKC, as Westbrook signed his 5yr/80m deal earlier this season, so theyve got a lot less to work with than what it currently shows, this is why I don't think they will be able to keep both. I'm definitely interested in what will happen, they've got a good thing going in OKC and the better small pieces in the league might be taken from them if they don't play it right.

        Harden,because he makes Westbrook tradable.
In 2013 the new CBA Lux Tax rules take effect and it will be very painful for a team to go over the Lux Tax,which will be @ $70mil.
If they sign just Ibaka,to say a $9mil deal,OKC will have some $56mil committed to just 5 players. That is going to be a very thin bench.
If,on other hand, the team signs Harden to a friendly $12mil deal, they can afford to trade Westbrook as Harden runs the offense very well.
With Durrant and Harden,OKC doesn't need to get a star back, they can afford to take back 2-3 good role players, maybe a good prospect.

They're signed for this coming season.
In 2013 they will be Restricted FAs unless they sign an extension or get traded.

Yes, but if they cannot win the championship this year theyll need to do something, and unless they are willing to tie up all their cap on Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, and Harden theyll need to do something this offseason in the way of moving someone. If they get a ring this year, maybe they go for back to back keeping the same team. If I were them and didn't win it all this year though, Id look for a home for one of them this year so I could get something in return. I dont think they will get rid of Westbrook unless they see no way of keeping either of them without getting rid of him. Westbrook's PER and pts/40 are both a bit higher than Harden's and the rest of their stats are similar, so there is no reason(besides chemistry i suppose) to drop Russell just to keep Harden(if theyre similar contracts).

Baring injury, and if both athlethes should maintain their recent production next year, then the better choice is Ibaka, not Harden.

Sure, Harden can flat out score, but they also have 2 other flat out scorers in KD and Westbrook.
Harden is also going to be demanding a bigger role soon as a starter probably, and i think another team will give him a chance.
SGs that can do what Harden does can be easily found in the NBA- maybe not so easy, but you are more likely to find another Harden than someone who plays like Ibaka. A shot blocking, rebounding PF- who can play both forward and center, doesn't need the ball in his hands a lot and can hit most shots inside the 3-pt line.

However if anyone can work miracles, its their gm. And OKC are not going to win a championship this year and probably not next either. There is only so far a jump shooting team an go

and LMAO to those who think OKC will get rid of Westbrook in favor of Harden.
They play different positions and Westbrook is a better player

After watching last nights game, Ibaka looks like a player wanting to improve all aspects of his game. If he can continue shooting as well as he did then he will want money than OKC will be willing to dish out. He would essentially become a smaller version of Dwight Howard who can actually shoot.

Although I dont think one game is enough sample size to say he's a great shooter or anything, the fact that the ball was being deferred to him and he was making it happen shows a lot. Hopefully you're right though that they won't be able to afford him, although considering the defensive talents alone I think they do whatever they need to to keep him around.
