@  majik19 : (13 October 2015 - 09:09 PM) Apparently we claimed Arsalan Kazemi off waivers from the Hawks today... yet another undersized (6'7") power forward for Morey's cupboard.
@  Mario Peña : (10 October 2015 - 01:12 PM) If your part if the Red94 Fantasy Basketball League check the thread to vote for the date and time for the draft event. Thanks y'all!
@  jorgeaam : (07 October 2015 - 08:47 PM) Guys we need 1 more owner for the Red94 fantasy league, if interested please comment on the post in the fantasy basketball thread
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 06:50 PM) Kobe ranked one spot higher than Ariza? Is this based on legacy or...??
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 04:13 PM) It was hard to keep up with both the Astros and Rockets at the same time. Should be interesting on Thursday with the Texans and Astros on simultaneously.
@  Mario Peña : (07 October 2015 - 04:09 PM) It was fun to have the Rockets on last night! Right now I'm watching the Celtics versus Milan and Alessandro Gentile is impressive.
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Well, thinking twice about it, I'd rather have him score less and have the team as a whole do better. Lawson should take a lot of his load off
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Loving that, hope he hits 30 PPG this year
@  thejohnnygold : (06 October 2015 - 06:15 PM) Someone is feeling confident :) : LINK
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 05:54 PM) 10 Teams done, will need 2 more
@  Mario Peña : (06 October 2015 - 02:35 PM) Alright guys, if anyone is interested in joining the Red94 fantasy basketball league we could use one more player to get us to 10 teams (or three to get us to 12 teams). Just check the thread in the Fantasy Basketball forum. Thanks!
@  thejohnnygold : (05 October 2015 - 06:23 PM) I use leaguepass here in Austin with no problems...
@  skip 2 my lou : (05 October 2015 - 03:14 PM) Hey fellas, I'm a rocket fan but I live in the heart of Dallas. Does anybody know if I buy NBA Leaguepass if it's too close to be subject to blackouts?
@  Losthief : (02 October 2015 - 02:24 AM) tks jg
@  thejohnnygold : (29 September 2015 - 05:16 AM) FYI, it was media day today. Interviews are up at NBA.com
@  slick shoes : (23 September 2015 - 06:37 PM) kind of late in the day but NBATV is broadcasting classis Rockets games all day today.
@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) http://bleacherrepor...ist-after-crash
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) So to celebrate his new contract, Montrezl Harrell saved someone's life on monday
@  thejohnnygold : (14 September 2015 - 04:36 PM) A good article from Blinebury talking about when Hakeem and Moses used to play in the park. LINK

I totally agree. rahat when I saw the video you posted after the golden state game this thought popped into my head. this is the same guy I saw in minnesota. he hasn't changed a bit.

I read the thread and while I'm not as anti-McHale as you as I think he's overall done a positive job, the thing that's really confusing to me is this: the rumblings were that Adelman was fired because he refused to play the younger players and that McHale was hired to usher in that movement. I was completely on board. But then they didn't even play the young players! They kept Scola and Martin, signed Dalembert, and didn't even play Marcus Morris!

So if they were going to just try to win, why not just keep Adelman?

I'll tell you why no adelman. adelman doesn't even know what the word defense means. however I do agree in that our young players did not play as much as I thought they would. the team did start to play better defense this year, but that was probility due to kevin martin having a seat more than mc hale's coaching. problems is the offense stunk. apeared to me the rockets were struggling to score in a lot of games this year unless one of their guards got hot. thats not the way to run offense. the one thing I can say about rick is when we needed to score we could most of the time

        Alituro/pharmag:
if the only reason you want to keep him is to develop our big men then he should be an assistant coach, not head coach. as far as having an off season with these guys he has been coaching them (a poor job I might add) for four months. if you don't know what you have by now then you don't know what you are doing. everybody has excuses. bottom line is the nba is a result business (either you put up or shut up). mc hale is a nice guy. he simply doesn't have a clue about coaching. when I said in my opening piece that I had some preconceived ideas about him that I tried to stay away from, its because I saw him in minnesota, and they are just now starting to recover from the mess he left there. the rockets may indeed give him another year, but he doesn't deserve it. remember when he said the rockets were a playoff team at the beginning of the year? did he change his mind? the way the rockets collapsed coming down to the end of the season is a reflection on not only their players but also their coach. mc hale inability to snap the rockets out of their funk during the losing streak proves to me he's no head coach

I am not saying he is a great coach by any stretch of the means, just that he hasn't been given enough time. You could argue that he had the Rockets playing some best ball before the all-star break, but then he lost his entire starting back-court shortly after it. They jacks with rotations and requires him to revamp. You want to compare this season to his tenure as a coach in Minnesota, and I would say that is a pretty apt comparison, but not necessarily a good gauge of his coaching ability. You see both seasons he coached in Minnesota, he took over after the season had begun (aka no offseason). He has yet to actually have an offseason to work with any team he has coached and install his system. THIS is why I think people are being to hard on him. He has shown potential to coach so I still say give him an actually offseason. He is technically still a new coach that has yet to actually coach a full offseason and season.

I like the defense we played all year (minus a few select games). The biggest pitfall was surely scoring. When Scola got cold, Parsons and Budinger were hardly ever picking up the slack. We have a lot of scoring threats, but not enough actual scoring.

I agree with this. Because the season started with no training camp and Morris had to learn a new position, there was very little chance he was going to get significant minutes. But speaking of playing young guys and looking at the SF position as Ostrow alluded to, Chandler Parsons was a rookie, won the starting role PDQ and never looked back.

One last thing about McHale and everyone's comments and in particular about the two Denver games: while I'll agree I was usually scratching my head when they had Scola and Patterson as the bigs late in the game, you also have to look who Denver had on the court. I don't quite remember, but if they went small, Scola and Patterson playing as the bigs seems much more reasonable in that situation.

I was looking at who denver had on the floor. a small lineup, but instead of going small with them we should have brought in a big man so we could pound the migets. instead we fell right into their trap trying to out small ball them. as for parsons, I expect him to be more developed. he played more college ball, but I still expected morris to play.
