So Feigen reports this morning in the Chronicle that, in his opinion, the Rockets could pursue Dwight again next season.
If the Rockets somehow pulled it off, obviously I'd support him because we'd become instant contenders and all I really care about is winning a title. But it'd be tough. As I ranted on Twitter yesterday, I don't remember ever being this irritated by an NBA player. Howard's antics this season have made Lebron and The Decison seem likable. SVG exposing him on-camera was probably the best moment of the season to date. The most annoying thing about Howard is the defensiveness. He's the one that repeatedly throws his teammates under the bus but then when asked about it, he acts like its the media trying to create drama. And could anyone come off more like a fool with their comments? "Roll the dice, take a chance on me." Uhhh, you ask someone to take a chance on you when they have nothing to lose, not when they're desparately clinging to every hope to keep you.
I'm personally done with the free agent-rental chasing. If it happens, I'll support it. But these guys don't want to come here and Howard is too annoying to actively pin my hopes on an acquisition. Right now I'd rather just roll with this current team and try to improve through trades (for non free agents-to-be) and the draft. I want to pin my hopes on things under our own control, not on hoping some flake chooses us.

Dwight Howard is so many things that a person should aspire NOT to be. How anyone could cheer for him or hope he played on the team you support is beyond me. Morey shouldn't spend one minute thinking about that guy. The ultimate chemistry killer. The phony is constantly talking about loving his team and teammates. Ever watch him play? He can't be bothered to congratulate his teammates when they make a big play. Listen to him talk. It's all about Dwight. I'd rather cheer for a team like this year's that likely will lose in the first round but plays with heart than cheer for that douche. Let him end up in NJ with that other douchebag. I'd loved to see the chemistry on that team.
Oh and about that contender thing. Don't kid yourself. He's seriously overrated. It's not like he'd be free and he's proven he can't lead a team.

He lead a team of scrubs to the NBA finals. I'd say he has the ability to lead a team. He is far and away the best C in the league and he makes everyone around him better. I'm not saying I love the way he has acted, but I would take him on my team every day of the week. He wants to win and he's mad at Van Gundy for not calling enough plays for him to get the ball in the post. I want a superstar who wants the ball. The reason we don't hear more of this kind of thing is because there aren't that many big men who can actually score in the post and the guards/small forwards can get the ball whenever they want on the perimeter. Of the three guys I can think of who can actually score consistently in the post against any one (Howard, Gasol, Bynum) every single one of them has said they want the ball more down there. It's not like he's the only one. Any star who doesn't get the ball enough is going to want it more.

Yeah, I agree with you Rahat. For all of the handwringing over not tanking, at least to a certain extent, I'm happy with where we are and what we are doing. Morey and his team have proven to be such good evaluators of talent that we will be pretty good no matter what and come to think of it, the teams over the past few year have been really fun.

where is all this hate coming from howard is a star. yes he can act out sometimes but all stars do that when they don't get there way.ie kobe lebron anthony. this guy could change this team into championship contenders. we are not in bad position if we don't get him but if we do it could change everything
you can only warn a man that the bridge is out.....if he keeps driving he's on his own
