@  Mario Peña : (10 October 2015 - 01:12 PM) If your part if the Red94 Fantasy Basketball League check the thread to vote for the date and time for the draft event. Thanks y'all!
@  jorgeaam : (07 October 2015 - 08:47 PM) Guys we need 1 more owner for the Red94 fantasy league, if interested please comment on the post in the fantasy basketball thread
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 06:50 PM) Kobe ranked one spot higher than Ariza? Is this based on legacy or...??
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 04:13 PM) It was hard to keep up with both the Astros and Rockets at the same time. Should be interesting on Thursday with the Texans and Astros on simultaneously.
@  Mario Peña : (07 October 2015 - 04:09 PM) It was fun to have the Rockets on last night! Right now I'm watching the Celtics versus Milan and Alessandro Gentile is impressive.
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Well, thinking twice about it, I'd rather have him score less and have the team as a whole do better. Lawson should take a lot of his load off
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Loving that, hope he hits 30 PPG this year
@  thejohnnygold : (06 October 2015 - 06:15 PM) Someone is feeling confident :) : LINK
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 05:54 PM) 10 Teams done, will need 2 more
@  Mario Peña : (06 October 2015 - 02:35 PM) Alright guys, if anyone is interested in joining the Red94 fantasy basketball league we could use one more player to get us to 10 teams (or three to get us to 12 teams). Just check the thread in the Fantasy Basketball forum. Thanks!
@  thejohnnygold : (05 October 2015 - 06:23 PM) I use leaguepass here in Austin with no problems...
@  skip 2 my lou : (05 October 2015 - 03:14 PM) Hey fellas, I'm a rocket fan but I live in the heart of Dallas. Does anybody know if I buy NBA Leaguepass if it's too close to be subject to blackouts?
@  Losthief : (02 October 2015 - 02:24 AM) tks jg
@  thejohnnygold : (29 September 2015 - 05:16 AM) FYI, it was media day today. Interviews are up at NBA.com
@  slick shoes : (23 September 2015 - 06:37 PM) kind of late in the day but NBATV is broadcasting classis Rockets games all day today.
@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) http://bleacherrepor...ist-after-crash
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) So to celebrate his new contract, Montrezl Harrell saved someone's life on monday
@  thejohnnygold : (14 September 2015 - 04:36 PM) A good article from Blinebury talking about when Hakeem and Moses used to play in the park. LINK
@  rockets best... : (14 September 2015 - 02:29 AM) I agree totally. I got to watch his Rocket days and the man was a hell of a player. BIG MO R.I.P.

Idk it was on Espn. Of course Marvin's not bad in the right situation, but Afflalo with the year he's had, is worth a late lotto/teens pick not one in the late 20s.

@TTDN

I agree Affalo has had a good year and could possible return more in trade. I was only using him to help others understand the possibilities. then again you never know. however I hope the Rockets plan on using these 2 contracts on the same player.........Melo, LMA or Love

@TTDN

here's another possibility...............once July 1 passes the Rockets will have the full payment of 3 mil they can add in any trade. they were talking to  Boston right before the deadline about Rondo. Rondo makes 12.9 mil next year on the final year of his deal. they can trade Asik and first rounder for Rondo. this allows Boston while paying 2 mil more in salary to Asik showing 4.9 mil less on the salary cap, and that's if they don't make Houston fork over the 2 mil difference in the deal. I know Boston wanted Parsons and we refused and rightfully so, but Rondo had 1 1/2 years to play then. now he'll have 1 or less. again this is just an example my point in starting this thread was not to argue for different trades (we can do that in the off season), but dispel the notion that we are somehow stuck with these contracts with no means to move them without selling the farm

    I do believe the Rondo idea is a legitimate one. I dont see him sticking around during this rebuild, and think that if Boston realizes this they will deal him for the best deal they can get-and a deal including Asik should fall into that category.

      Rondo is possible because he will want to be on a contender and looking around the rockets are one of the few that have a need a pg so the rockets might have enough leverage to get him for a little under his real value.

      I could see Rondo/Wallace for Lin/Asik. Unless Boston is getting a lottery pick then the best they can hope for is somebody to take Wallace off their hands and speed the rebuild.

        It works on the trade machine if Garcia or another ~million or so player is included.

        @TTDN

        I can't see the Rockets accepting Wallace's contract. we are already trying to get rid of Lin. we're unlikely to accept 1 bad contract for another one. Rondo may have value, but so does Asik. so why would we tie ourselves down an additional year at more money counted against the cap with Wallace's deal when we could ride Lin's out at a cheaper cost and cap figure? Wallace will never wear a Rockets jersey unless he  buys it at the store :lol: if we told Boston we would accept Wallace we could have had Rondo at the deadline with no draft picks. that's how desperate Boston is to get rid of him. Morey's smarter than that. at the deadline it was rumored that Morey was unwilling to accept any contracts that extended beyond next year, so why would we shift position on that now? the only way I see us accepting a contract that goes beyond next year is we are acquiring a star or a player who is very close to it. while we would be getting a star in Rondo.......Wallace's contract would make paying Parsons very difficult. that doesn't sound like something Morey would do to me

          One year of wallace shouldn't be a deal breaker if they're getting Rondo.

              It takes out 2015 cap space but the only FAs really worth having besides Rondo is Love, Aldridge and maybe Matthews or Afflalo, thats a pretty weak class if portland locks up their guys. You're betting the Farm on Love coming when it looks like a lot of the major markets will have a clean cap sheet Wallace expires in 2016 with Durant and Howard has his ETO then. At this point I would be surprised  if either Lin or asik were resigned so if you can turn them and a late first into rondo thats a huge win even if it means taking wallace because even if they were to sign rondo outright they would have no cap space either.  Maybe love and rondo play together in Boston or both could head out to LA to be with 40 year old kobe and Andrew Wiggens. Thats why I would be for a trade and being able to lock up Rondo right away, perhaps even a miracle trade for Love is in the cards.

              FOOD FOR THOUGHT

              I was lurking on clutch fans today and a guy posted a trade proposal that blew me away. I did the research and he was correct. we all know how both Lin's and Asik's contracts work. so I'll save you from the gory details. however if the Rockets seek to trade either they can wait until after July 1st and pay out 25% of the cap figure on the contract according to the CBA. meaning they can pay Lin 2.1 mil and trade him July 2nd with 3 mil allowable trade cash payout and reduce Lin's real money figure payout to just under 10 mil for next year. now sit back and soak that in for a second............if the Rockets wait until October 1st they can payout 50% of the cap figure. which means they can pay either Asik or Lin 4.15 mil. if they also pay the 3 mil allowable cash payout they could reduce real money payout on  either contract to below it's cap figure by about half a mil. not saying the Rockets will do this.........just saying it's on the table. this revelation should make it easy to see that should the Rockets desire to move one of these two contracts it won't be all that hard.

                Marc Gasol, Milsap, Al Jefferson, klay Thompson, Parsons, asik, Roy hibbert, Deandre Jordan, Beverley, Reggie Jackson, Tobia Haris, Affalo, Thadeaus Young, Nikola Vucevic, dragic, morris twins, westly mathews, robin lopez, Gerald green, amir johnson, kawi leanord, Benelli, Enes Kanter, Alec Burks, and the big 3 if they stay another year. That's a STACKED FA agent class. Definitely better than this year and last

                  Dragic has an option. Morris's, Vucevic, Kanter, Burke, Thompson and Leonard are Restricted FA. 9 outta 10 times if they make it to FA they stay with the team.

                    From the rockets point of view none of those centers matter since Howards here and the rest of those guys are restricted or just nothing special you don't turn down a solid Rondo trade for a run at paul millsap or Thad young. If Bosh is available that might be worth the wait, Lebron isn't going anywhere someone is coming down to miami to join him and hometown Discount Wade.

                    I said it before and I still believe it. one of these players will be in a Rockets jersey next year.

                    1. Rondo

                    2. Love

                    3. Melo

                    4. Bosh

                    with the most likely being Rondo. he is the cheapest among the bunch which would give us a more sustainable team from a salary standpoint. I would prefer Melo though.
