@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.

@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) So to celebrate his new contract, Montrezl Harrell saved someone's life on monday
@  thejohnnygold : (14 September 2015 - 04:36 PM) A good article from Blinebury talking about when Hakeem and Moses used to play in the park. LINK

@  Mario Peña : (13 September 2015 - 05:24 PM) Sad to see Moses pass. I don't remember watching him as a Rocket but I do remember his Philly and Hawks teams. He was the perfect man to mentor Dream. It's a very sad day for his family and friends and there are many.
@  majik19 : (12 September 2015 - 09:01 PM) i just saw a post wishing Yao Ming a happy 35th birthday... am I the only one whose mind is blown that he's only 35?

@  thejohnnygold : (08 September 2015 - 12:03 AM) Christian Wood has signed with Philly

LeBron and CP3 are the best pure PGs in the NBA

Except LeBron isn't a PG. Even in the playoffs he can usually guard the opposing PG for 1 quarter max at best. NBA is more than just offense.

There is no question in the minds of anyone who followed Basketball at that time that he should not have played in that series.

Who is he and which series (both of the prior)  are you referring to??

Oops. Sorry- thought I hit the "quote" button. I was responding to a post that said that Grant Hill didn't derail his career by playing on an injured ankle against the Heat in 2000.

Last night Lin did a great job. I have never seen him play so well. Against one of the best PG's in the league; Lin did a superb job defensively. I don't know if Parker had a migraine or was feeling sick or anything.....Lin fought thru the screener and closed the gap well last night. I specifically looked to see the help defense to see who was leaving their man in order to help Lin. For the most part Lin had man to man with little help. Congrats Lin!! Report McHale challenged Lin before the Spurs game to play defense vs Parker and to win the individual battle. Now bring it every night. That is starter material last night. If you think players like Ibaka, Perkins, LMA, Caveman (Lopez), D Jordan, Barnes, Splitter, Duncan, Diaw, Bogut, Z-Bo, ect will not hit you with an elbow as you come thru the lane in the playoffs.....you're crazy. In game 3 Durant hit Lin on his right chest on purpose in hopes that Lin would tap out. I guarantee you that Lin will be targeted by opposing player enforcer types.....Lin has to go thru the lane with his elbows up to protect himself. Guys like Gary Payton, Stockton, Tony Parker, Deron Williams would not let a chest bruise keep them out of a playoff game. You might get traded to the Jazz tomorrow and never get back to the playoffs. Blake Griffin is critized for being soft....Barnes defended him earlier in the season and twitted that he can't afford the fines anymore. Sending a message to Griffin to defend himself. Thats what I wanted from Lin....a Gary Payton/Stockton like edge to him. You don't have to be dirty. Just compete and try not to show pain. I don't know if Rockets reps see these forums....but McHale challenged Lin in the way I felt like Lin should be challenged.

Lin responded the way I had hoped he would. Very good !!

How does one person commenting that Lin "looked bad at times last night" translate into "all this criticism"?  Too many Lin fans have a serious persecution complex.

First off I want to introduce myself, my name is Charles though you all can call me chuck. okay, Rudy there is unfair criticism of Lin and thats a fact. Lin is a solid pg who has the potential to elevate his game even further, he is mentioned in trade rumors all the time no matter how well he performs. That indicates that many fans simply dont want him here, regardless of his talent or performance. Lin is a hard-working player who tries to improve. We have forgotten, he is still young and will improve his game.

Now you sound like a hater Rahat, a typical fan. That was just a VERY stupid comment to make. I don't give a damn if I'm talking to the MAIN GUY on this site, saying it was a VERY STUPID comment without judging fairly. How many games did Lin miss? How many games does Lin even get to practice with D12 on the same team? I guess we all expected Lin to just "be in the flow" of things, even though he rarely gets to play with D12 anyway? How many turnovers did D12 and Parsons have? (4 each). Lets talk about how this offense drastically changes from first unit to second unit. Talk about how Lin is supposedly from last year the 5th best PnR player in the league last year and is 1st in FG% on drives to the basket and how the Rockets DUMB (McHale) and DUMBER (Sampson) don't even exploit that to put pressure on other teams with Lin. He'd be lucky to get a pick. And WTF is an "elite pg" that's going to feed D12 the ball? There's only certain PGs that play like a CP3 or a Rondo. If you really think about it, just about EVERY other "star or superstar" PG is a "scorer".

You know I sat back for 5 seconds and thought myself, maybe if McHale knew how to coach and make adjustments instead of gettin torched by Dirk with the same exact defensive scheme. What's the use of Sampson? Mr defensive genius?

I agree, Lin has a off game and everyone is ready to get rid of him as a matter of fact he could have a great game and they still want him gone. There is no real logical evidence to indicate he is not a great fit for this team. He runs the floor, he drives, the only thing he needs to improve on is his assist and decision making when he drives to the goal. If you look around the league, he is in the top 10 of pgs. And McHale plays Pat cause he has played well. Lin is still the starter, in fact this is the luxury/dileema he has having two solid pgs he has to each give minutes to. Asik is another player that I feel needs to stay, cause who will you replace him with? In the west you need solid centers, starters and reserves. Asik is not happy? Well as managers and coaches, you need to convince him that he will help the team win a title, and give him starts along the way, which will give the opponent different looks. one night Howard starts, the next Asik starts, that is a lethal strategy. Let's not fight over who should get traded, cause no one really needs to, our team was picked as one of the top teams to win it all, so lets get healthy and make it happen.

I think last night was Lin's best game as a Rocket.  Didn't turn the ball over, attacked, and shut down maybe the best scoring pg in basketball.

Did you all know....the Houston Rockets have 3 players in the top 30 in TS% and none of them is James Harden?  Lin (10th), Parsons (20th), and Howard (29th) all come before James at 35 :)

Dallas and Miami are the only other teams that can make such a claim.  Only Miami and Houston boast 4 in the top 40.  Even more impressive when you realize our 4 guys have our 4 highest usg%'s.  Miami gets in with Lebron, Bosh, Allen, and Beasley.

EDIT: sorry it's a bit off-topic--I started closer to topic and then found this more interesting.

With respect to you JohhnyGold.....I do give Harden a pass too much this season. I admit that. When the Rockets were in New York earlier in the season, Harden was pictured during a pre game shoot-around with his shoes off. He was sitting in a court side seat in MSG and his feet were gnarly. Swollen twice the size of normal (both of them). He has seen a specialist since and reports came out that the Rockets were concerned for the unknown cause. Was it gout or is it a diabetic thing or in-grown toenail w/ a staph infection......I haven't heard as to the results. I just look at him play and remember that photo. It looked bad. I think his defense is much worse then last year because of his feet....to me understandably. I also believe it has troubled his offense as well; Esp back to back games. No excuse (for him to sit for any length would kill the Rockets season...IMO).....but how does his TS% compare to Melo, Kobe, Westbrook, D-Wade..........just curious (past years also). I'm sure LeBron is off the charts. Melo and Kobe have always had those reputations as go-to-shot-taken-ball-hogs. Some people also would say that about M Jordan (Esp early in his career).

In crunch time it seems good to have a guy that isnt afraid to try/fail. Remember when LeBron would defer to D-Wade. Not anymore.

I can't really tell, but it seems like you are defending Harden here.  I don't know what from.  My post wasn't attacking him.  I am very aware that he has been playing hurt all season and very aware that it affects his play.  I was merely making a happy point that we've got 4 guys doing very well.  I singled Harden out as not one of the top 3 because if asked, I think most people would have guessed he'd be one of them.  At #35 he is still in the top 8% or so of the entire league--which when you factor in playing hurt and going against every team's top defender is mighty impressive.
