@  slick shoes : (23 September 2015 - 06:37 PM) kind of late in the day but NBATV is broadcasting classis Rockets games all day today.
@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.

@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) So to celebrate his new contract, Montrezl Harrell saved someone's life on monday
@  thejohnnygold : (14 September 2015 - 04:36 PM) A good article from Blinebury talking about when Hakeem and Moses used to play in the park. LINK
@  rockets best... : (14 September 2015 - 02:29 AM) I agree totally. I got to watch his Rocket days and the man was a hell of a player. BIG MO R.I.P.
@  Mario Peña : (13 September 2015 - 05:24 PM) Sad to see Moses pass. I don't remember watching him as a Rocket but I do remember his Philly and Hawks teams. He was the perfect man to mentor Dream. It's a very sad day for his family and friends and there are many.
@  majik19 : (12 September 2015 - 09:01 PM) i just saw a post wishing Yao Ming a happy 35th birthday... am I the only one whose mind is blown that he's only 35?

@  jorgeaam : (08 September 2015 - 12:21 AM) Love it how Hinkie and Morey always target the same players, but hoping he isn't another Covington
@  thejohnnygold : (08 September 2015 - 12:03 AM) Christian Wood has signed with Philly
@  jorgeaam : (07 September 2015 - 10:32 PM) If I'm not wrong, he hasn't been waived yet, they have until october 4th to do that
@  cointurtlemoose : (07 September 2015 - 05:39 PM) Anyone else surprised that Kostas hasn't gotten picked up by anyone yet? I wanna see that guy play somewhere

So it was said that these talks were mentioned already but nothing ever came to surfice... Things have changed, atleast on the Brooklyn side. Prokorov doesn't give a damn about the luxury tax as we all know (already paying 80 million+ just in luxury tax for a team going downhill). Not to mention one of their main players in Brook Lopez is out for the season now.

Since no one posted yet, thoughts?
    Why does it make sense?
    1. Asik is bound to be traded now or later it's going to happen.
    2. Rockets were so called "rumored" that if there were takers for Lin, they'd get rid of him.
    3. Do the Rockets want Deron Williams?
    4. I think Dwight would vouch for this because he's such good friends with Deron Williams and Dwight wanted to play with Deron in Brooklyn before coming to the Rockets.
    5. Imagine Lin succeeding in Brooklyn with arch rival Knicks struggling. It may not mean anything to Houston, but as a fellow New Yorker, I know the serious implications this would mean if that were to happen. Provorov calls Dolan "the little guy", it's a knockout blow atleast to Prokorov to embarrass Dolan even more.

Will this work? My personal opinion is No. Only because it seems to good to be true from my standpoint and how I would love to have Lin back in NY.

A healthy D-Will is greater then Asik and Lin. Problem is he hasn't been healthy is ages. I don't see Morey making this move because their is no chance of getting any picks from the Nets until 2020.

I don't think Morey would want anything to do with that 100million dollar+ contract. Yes DWill is injury prone but who knows with these GMs. Morey could have the mindset of "just 1 more piece" and pull the trigger. No one really knows

everything I know about Morey tells me he wouldn't touch this deal with welder's gloves on. D-Will is still owed 80 mil dollars for this year and 3 more. that's not the kind of money Morey will spend on a point guard, especially an often injured one. I don't doubt the fact that the Rockets may upgrade PG, but it won't be D-Will. true D-Will is an allstar, however you can't score or assist from the training table. the risk is too great for the possible reward. I say two thumbs down on this deal

The only way I see an Asik+Lin to Brooklyn being reasonable is by getting back Pierce and Plumlee - gives the Rockets a wing player who knows what it takes to win and a nice young backup big.

The money matches almost perfectly and for the Rockets it makes sense financially - Pierce has an expiring 15M contract.

Not sure how much Pierce fits the Rockets locker room, but my guess is he will prefer being on a >.600 team over his current <.400...

Deron is phenomenal offensively, but defensively he's a bigger liability than Harden is.

So win games 140-136, same as winning 80-76 except it would actually be entertaining.

RedFaithFul....you spiked my interest in a Asik/Lin for Plumlee/Pierce deal; but doubt Pierce would like the up tempo style of Houston and the nets have no backup PGs to send our way. Now that Bev is hurt; that would leave us with AB and Canaan (still unproven). But I will consider it since I'm none to happy with Lin. Parsons struggles with back pain like a Trojan Warrior daily......Lin won't. Two dudes cut out of different cloth. Just like Tony Parker misses 2 games with a shin contusion......Asik will try to miss another 2 months with a thigh contusion. Get rid of him!!

For whatever it's worth, Morey said Lin's back pain is a lot worse than Parsons.

@Jatman20: I am not eager to see either Lin or Asik leave, I tried to take Knickabokkaz assumptions and suggest something better than DWill. I find a second unit of AB, Garcia, Pierce, Casspi and Plumlee as 1-5 very intriguing, Pierce doesn't have to do all the running...

I find it intriguing too, especially if Nets throw in Mirza Tetlovic, but the problem with this scenario is the fact Morey was very adamant about the inclusion of a 1st round pick in any Asik deal. Apparently Morey even refused Asik for Thaddeus Young straight up because he wanted a 1st.

Isn't 15M off next year's cap space good as a low 1st rounder?

Do you honestly have any idea what their injury is like? Go play professional basketball with an injury that requires you to drain your knee like asik or disrespecting a player like tony Parker, and how do you know the severity of Lin's back spasms.

Lol 3 things you said had me chuckle ..

                1. Parsons with back pain but fights through it like a Trojan Warrior and Lin won't. Lin had multiple ankle sprains last years and played all 82 regular season games till he got injured in the playoffs. Not to mention his style of play hitting the floor as much as he does. Your right he must be weak.

                2. "I'm none too happy with Lin", why because he's improve dramatically since last year? Check his 36 min per game PPG, his FG% and 3pt% then come back and say something relevant.

                3. "Asik will try to miss another 2 months with a thigh contusion. Get rid of him!!" Well duh.. You need him to perform so teams can see he's fully healed an can still perform at a high level in order for teams to want to trade for him right? How can you get rid of him if he's going to try to miss 2 months.

I've seen Lin take some pretty hard hits and keep playing with the same reckless abandon, he definitely doesn't lack toughness. He injured his back because he ran really hard into a screen by Andrew Bogut, and anyone who has seen Bogut set screens knows that's no joke.

Knickabokkaz, I know you're desperate to get Lin back to NYC, but why would you wish the Nets on him?  They have a horrible GM, horrible coach, players on horrible contracts, no draft picks, no flexibility going forward.

Come to think of it, why would you wish the Nets OR the Knicks on Lin.  Both organizations are disasters.  I would think that a true LOF would want him to go to the Heat or something.

Dude, do you even know what back spasms or a muscle contusion feels like?  or how widely they can range in severity?

What an ignorant thing to say.

I work in physical therapy. Lin is soft and will always be soft. He has missed the playoffs two years in a row and can't be counted on. Bev held Lillard to 8 points (a guy who is tearing up the league) while pulling down 11 rebounds. Then played great vs S Curry, keeping him to 20 points.......Lin gets destroyed by both of them.
