Love the fact that he was not traded. None of the pieces offered seem to bring back the value he puts up. Everyone talks about the cap room availability after this season because of the potential free agents hitting the market, but of those on the list neither is Love or LMA (the guys I would say most mentioned on this site as desirable). If the bench can get healthy we actually do have quality depth players, just hard to tell when two of the best ones are injured. We all know the diminishing returns rule when it comes to the "big 3" but how about the diminishing returns of a Young who would then split with Jones/Casspi or any of the other potential would be back-ups in Houston that were mentioned. I will admit that Young may have been an upgrade, but with substantially diminished touches how much value would have really been added? As long as Lin is your back up pg He is still going to get a lot of touches so all of the players mentioned coming in might not have even been the first option on the second rotation. That would seem like a lot less touches, producing a lot less opportunity to give the returns they were generating in a larger role while also negating much of their true return as an upgrade to what we currently have on the bench.
