@  jorgeaam : (07 October 2015 - 08:47 PM) Guys we need 1 more owner for the Red94 fantasy league, if interested please comment on the post in the fantasy basketball thread
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 06:50 PM) Kobe ranked one spot higher than Ariza? Is this based on legacy or...??
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 04:13 PM) It was hard to keep up with both the Astros and Rockets at the same time. Should be interesting on Thursday with the Texans and Astros on simultaneously.
@  Mario Peña : (07 October 2015 - 04:09 PM) It was fun to have the Rockets on last night! Right now I'm watching the Celtics versus Milan and Alessandro Gentile is impressive.
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Well, thinking twice about it, I'd rather have him score less and have the team as a whole do better. Lawson should take a lot of his load off
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Loving that, hope he hits 30 PPG this year
@  thejohnnygold : (06 October 2015 - 06:15 PM) Someone is feeling confident :) : LINK
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 05:54 PM) 10 Teams done, will need 2 more
@  Mario Peña : (06 October 2015 - 02:35 PM) Alright guys, if anyone is interested in joining the Red94 fantasy basketball league we could use one more player to get us to 10 teams (or three to get us to 12 teams). Just check the thread in the Fantasy Basketball forum. Thanks!
@  thejohnnygold : (05 October 2015 - 06:23 PM) I use leaguepass here in Austin with no problems...
@  skip 2 my lou : (05 October 2015 - 03:14 PM) Hey fellas, I'm a rocket fan but I live in the heart of Dallas. Does anybody know if I buy NBA Leaguepass if it's too close to be subject to blackouts?
@  Losthief : (02 October 2015 - 02:24 AM) tks jg
@  thejohnnygold : (29 September 2015 - 05:16 AM) FYI, it was media day today. Interviews are up at NBA.com
@  slick shoes : (23 September 2015 - 06:37 PM) kind of late in the day but NBATV is broadcasting classis Rockets games all day today.
@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) http://bleacherrepor...ist-after-crash
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) So to celebrate his new contract, Montrezl Harrell saved someone's life on monday
@  thejohnnygold : (14 September 2015 - 04:36 PM) A good article from Blinebury talking about when Hakeem and Moses used to play in the park. LINK
@  rockets best... : (14 September 2015 - 02:29 AM) I agree totally. I got to watch his Rocket days and the man was a hell of a player. BIG MO R.I.P.

“I can’t see him coming here,” McGrady told Yahoo! Sports late Tuesday inside the visiting locker room at the Prudential Center. “If it’s just Dwight and D-Will, he’s better off just staying in Orlando. You want to go to a team that’s championship caliber, and just him and D-Will won’t get it done. There’s got to be other pieces around to make it look sweet.”

This was really interesting to me because it flies completely against conventional wisdom. Usually you think if you get the stars first--the foundation--then the supporting cast is easy to acquire. And I do think that that is usually the case, if you look at history. It almost seems T-Mac is completely influenced/embittered/jaded by the Houston experience where they had the foundation, but due to Carrol Dawson's ineptitude, weren't able to get the supporting pieces. That's not the norm, but for T-Mac, it was a paradigm-shifting experience.

It's pretty funny how clueless NBA players are about personnel and cap issues. He goes on to talk about the Mavs having cap space for both Williams and Dwight this summer.

      Actually,Dallas COULD get cap room.
Amnesty Marion or Haywood and trade the other for a TPE only. Buy-out Odom(@$4mil) and you're left w/Dirk($21mil),two players on voidable rookie deals($3.4mil),for a total of less than $27mil. W/a $58mil cap, that's room for 2 Max type(LeBron,Bosh,Wade for example) deals. Very difficult to do,but possible.

Wow, I didn't have any idea about that! Luckily for the league, Dirk doesn't have many years left. But with Deron being from that area, and with Dwight wanting to play with him, things could be set up very well for the Mavs. Why do some teams get all the luck?

The Rockets could do the same, only w/a much better supporting cast intact.
It basically involves trading Martin for no incoming 2012 salary or using the amnesty on him.
Not re-sign Thabeet, let Flynn and Dragic go. Stretch buy-out Dalembert's $1.5mil 2012 option so it only counts $500,000 against Salary Cap.

        Left w/ Scola,Lowry,Hill,Williams,Patterson,Morris,Motie(coming over),Bud,Parsons. About $29mil in salary,leaving just enough for 2 LeBron,Bosh type $14.5mil deals.
Llull could come over, his 2 Rd salary not counting towards cap til he signs. MLE available for Lee.
I'd assume if such was agreed upon by Dwight and Deron Williams,Lowry would get traded for some cap relief and a young player/draft pick, freeing up more room to sign Dwight,Williams.
If such a fantasy came true:
        Knicks pick and any others

The scenario where the Rockets could chase Dwight and Williams is very remote. BUT,it's possible and it has to be in Rocket's thinking.
So I doubt the team makes any moves until the Dwight situation gets resolved. If Dwight is traded-or reasonably certain to be-then I think the Rockets will make some trades, resolving the Martin/Lee situation among others. Until then,or forced by a particular situation, they're standing pat.(Which means they'll probably pull off a multi player,multi-team blockbuster trade tomorrow :) .)

Stephen: I think the problem is that while it may work under the numbers, nobody really wants to come to the Rockets. I don't think people have a very positive view of management here for whatever reason. Also, Deron is from Houston. But it's nice to know it could also be done.
