The best pick and roll handlers in the league are the ones who can not only pass well but also score well, because if the handler can't score well then defenders can focus on preventing the pass and the easy dunk--hence the fact stats say Harden was one of the lead leaders in points generated off pick and rolls last year (I think only Chris Paul and Lebron were better). With that being said, I am strongly against the idea that Rondo would be a good fit with current personnel.

Should Rockets Trade Asik or Lin -- Choose One

I deem it to be a rumor. I traced the source when this first came out and I do not find this "fan's" account to be very credible. You are welcome to do so.
Here is my original post when the topic first surfaced:
"I think we have our answer HERE. That links to the original poster's facebook page where you will immediately see a bevy of Jeremy Lin photos. It is a fan girl--plain and simple. Take her story as you like. The trail goes from reddit.com/r/rockets to r/nba to Houston Rockets Facebook to her. Source matters.
Also her unbiased observations came from a game where we were getting destroyed--I'm sure everyone was very frustrated. No big deal."
I have not seen, nor read, any articles or reports from Houston writers. Do you have any links for those as I would like to read them?
Source is indeed important, but unfortunately I disagree your link is the answer, as opposed to this one. "James Harden just lit into Jeremy Lin for his last shot. Beverly and McHale had to signal to him to calm down." That's according to a tweet by Yannis Koutroupis, an editor for hoopsworld. Hopefully that adds a bit of credibility to the "rumor" and certainly we can assume he's not as biased as the Chinese girl that has the hots for Jeremy (which of course I agree, is not reliable enough ). I actually inadvertently stumbled across that while following 2016's thread about Harden's defense against the Lakers to dimemag, where someone posted that sportsgrid link. Also, just so I'm not branded as a delusional Lin fan right off the bat, I'm not making a statement on anything, just addressing the last question in your post.

No surprise there, James Harden wants to be the go to guy. And I am glad about that as a Rockets fan. Harden is definitely not a shrinking violet. Heat of the moment competition in a team game is always going to have some distractions from time to time.
And I'm also very glad Jeremy Lin is willing to take that last shot, too.
A lot of times those shots aren't going to fall and everybody will blame whoever took the last shot. The Rockets are fortunate to have 2 players with excellent offensive skills willing to put it on the line everytime.

That is definitely a better source. This one is from the Lakers game that we lost. I'm not overly concerned about this--I am sure it will be dealt with in-house.
I have to laugh a little bit for Harden. He is constantly accused of being too lackadaisical, but every time he gets passionate people want him to calm down. He can't win! (I realize we don't want him belittling players on the court--just thought it was funny)

I have noticed that Harden seems more willing to allow Lin to do his thing this year. I hope that continues even after he's healthy. If those two could find a good rhythm our offense will be unstoppable.
Amen to that--that was Clyde Frazier's prediction for the duo, and he recalled that people also said he and Earl Monroe wouldn't be able to play together. I like the way McHale is handling the Harden/Lin/Bev trio--I like it when they're all on the floor sometimes, and any other twosome combination from those three seems to work really well most of the time. So don't trade Lin, but try to move Asik for a stretch 4.
(I say that having wished last year that the Rockets wouldn't get Dwight--I hope I"m proved wrong, but early returns aren't good. Who cares if he wants to prove his manhood in the post? He's good at PnR: then sacrifice for the team and do what you're good at, not what you prefer! Jeez...)
I do wish they'd rest Harden enough for him to get his foot 100%--Lin and Bev can handle the load, that's pretty clear, and I worry about James getting a chronic foot problem, more common in the NBA than people maybe realize.

Well if it's either/or, I think the clear odd man out is Asik. I think Asik/Parsons would be a hella lucrative duo to trade. Get some meat back, a real bruiser.

Can I choose neither? Although Omer and Dwight don't play well together in the 1st quarter, they do play well in 3rd's. Come playoff time I want our paint clogged and basket covered 24/7, and I highly doubt just one person can do that. And also Asik can be the perfect D12 insurance JUST in case, cuz those Yao injuries left me with mental scars, not to mention that can be a real possibility.
We got a trove of promising 4's in the pen so there's really no need to rush in a panicky manner. However, if we could pick up a couple of real good perimeter defenders, that'd be tight.

My deep respect toward Lin stronger every day. Lin was hurt as much or more as Asik when he was demoted. But he practice hard, play hard, and improved to a point that McHale couldn't ignore him anymore. Now he become more and more important to the team. Great character, humble, and hardworking young man. I wish and hope he reap more success in the future.

Yes, each day that passes it becomes more clearer that Asik is the player that is going to be moved, not Lin, except for possibly a blockbuster trade involving both (unlikely in my opinion).
