@  RudyT1995 : (08 February 2014 - 07:33 AM) Besides, as has been pointed out, I wasn't calling them "bad", just too old to compete for the second seed as this season wears on.
@  RudyT1995 : (08 February 2014 - 07:32 AM) Lol. Can't, can't beat father time forever.
@  RudyT1995 : (08 February 2014 - 07:31 AM) You can beat father time forever.
@  RudyT1995 : (08 February 2014 - 07:30 AM) If you've been old for three years in a row, that just means you're a year older now.
@  Drew in Abilene : (08 February 2014 - 06:17 AM) But that doesn't mean they won't be dangerous in the postseason
@  Drew in Abilene : (08 February 2014 - 06:16 AM) Spurs, are old, and have been doing well in the regular season this year and in years past. I wouldn't be surprised if Popp rested his starters more this season, though, and gave up some seeding for better rested players in the playoffs.
@  BrentYen : (08 February 2014 - 04:41 AM) old team does not equal to bad team I think.
@  jorgeaam : (08 February 2014 - 04:34 AM) And have been one of the top teams in the West in the last 3 seasons, with an "old" team
@  jorgeaam : (08 February 2014 - 04:32 AM) Are you serious? That "Spurs are old" argument is just pointless and nonsense, they made the finals last year
@  RudyT1995 : (08 February 2014 - 03:17 AM) Portland was riding in unsustainable streak of good shooting and the Spurs are just old.
@  RudyT1995 : (08 February 2014 - 03:17 AM) I wouldn't be surprised if we're battling LAC for the second seed by the end of the season.
@  feelingsuper... : (08 February 2014 - 03:05 AM) OKC,Phoenix and now Portland loses, yes!
@  feelingsuper... : (08 February 2014 - 03:00 AM) Anybody watching the Pacers game? How about that last George shot? I see nothing wrong with that.
@  Drew in Abilene : (07 February 2014 - 03:11 AM) Glad the Nets finally got their act together. Rockets could use a few more Spurs losses.
@  RollingWave : (07 February 2014 - 01:32 AM) It's a good thing they burned their bridge with Lebron and all
@  RollingWave : (07 February 2014 - 01:31 AM) Cavs fire their GM, have won as many game in 3 year Lebron left as his last year there, ouch.
@  Drew in Abilene : (07 February 2014 - 01:16 AM) Spurs don't have Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Leonard, or Diaw tonight. They do have a 20-10 lead over the Nets...
@  BenQueens : (06 February 2014 - 03:49 AM) The frontline's numbers tonight were pretty phenomenal. Chandler/Jones/Howard avg 24p/10r on 65.8%
@  thenit : (06 February 2014 - 01:20 AM) so far so good, like Bevs drive there
@  feelingsuper... : (04 February 2014 - 05:47 AM) I second all that Drew, it's almost like a Rocket win tonight, too bad the Spurs won.

Are This Years 76'ers as Bad as the 09-10 Nets?

Hawes got me 24 points 9 boards and 1 3pter while shooting 75% FG. I hope he stays healthy!

If MCW has a decent season the 76ers are a 35 win team in the East, but it won't happen. Turner will be gone probably with Young as well.

Turner is horrible, he can go. Thad on the other hand isn't going anywhere, he's a very good role player and the Sixers know it.

They'd probably take a first rounder for him.

Huh, I guess this thread was a bit premature. MCW looked excellent tonight. I was really down on him based on what I saw in Summer League, but he looked like a completely different player. He was everywhere defensively forcing turnovers and had a really level head. Hit some outside shots and looked strong on the boards too.

Even if he plays well the 76ers are going to lose a lot of games, but they'll be more like 25 wins rather than 10-15.

      Ya I guess it was!

I am still in belief that theyll be an under 20 win team, but they have shown that they aren't complete scrubs and that even teams like Miami can be beaten by sub-par rosters.

They might get a decent draft pick or two for him though. So depends on the Sixers near and mid-term plans for roster management. Not sure when his contract is up, that may have some impact as he is likely to get a nice boost in pay.

If memory serves, Hawes was a positive contributor for the majority of last season. He may have missed some time with injury, but that is true of most players anyway.

If I'm a 76ers fan...I wouldn't know to be happy or displeased at MCW's debut. If you were to finalize the season stats for every guard right now after 1-2 games (which is a ridiculous hypothetical situation), MCW would be a top 5 PG in the leagueee. But that means this team will have more than a handful of wins and the no.1 draft pick is fading away.

Even if the 76ers finished dead last, they only have a 25% probability of winning the overall #1 draft pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

It's a discussion topic because it was made prior to them being 3-0, but thank you for your input.

Anyways, I guess this team CAN play?  winning this one from 20 points down, against ANOTHER Eastern conference powerhouse.  I'm impressed.

Yeah, there's something there that just doesn't fit to me, Thibodeau's defense losing a 20 point gap? , anyways, this sixers team is showing us heart can win over talent sometimes.
