@  slick shoes : (23 September 2015 - 06:37 PM) kind of late in the day but NBATV is broadcasting classis Rockets games all day today.
@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) http://bleacherrepor...ist-after-crash
@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) So to celebrate his new contract, Montrezl Harrell saved someone's life on monday
@  thejohnnygold : (14 September 2015 - 04:36 PM) A good article from Blinebury talking about when Hakeem and Moses used to play in the park. LINK
@  rockets best... : (14 September 2015 - 02:29 AM) I agree totally. I got to watch his Rocket days and the man was a hell of a player. BIG MO R.I.P.
@  Mario Peña : (13 September 2015 - 05:24 PM) Sad to see Moses pass. I don't remember watching him as a Rocket but I do remember his Philly and Hawks teams. He was the perfect man to mentor Dream. It's a very sad day for his family and friends and there are many.
@  majik19 : (12 September 2015 - 09:01 PM) i just saw a post wishing Yao Ming a happy 35th birthday... am I the only one whose mind is blown that he's only 35?
@  cointurtlemoose : (08 September 2015 - 01:17 AM) aaaah, thanks jorge
@  jorgeaam : (08 September 2015 - 12:21 AM) Love it how Hinkie and Morey always target the same players, but hoping he isn't another Covington
@  thejohnnygold : (08 September 2015 - 12:03 AM) Christian Wood has signed with Philly
@  jorgeaam : (07 September 2015 - 10:32 PM) If I'm not wrong, he hasn't been waived yet, they have until october 4th to do that
@  cointurtlemoose : (07 September 2015 - 05:39 PM) Anyone else surprised that Kostas hasn't gotten picked up by anyone yet? I wanna see that guy play somewhere

Actually since the regular season lasts 6 1/2 months and the playoffs (assuming the Finals) last yet another 2 months, Depth is quite important which is exactly why the final couple of cuts prior to the start of the 2013-14 regular season is going to stick in the memories of many of the regular posters on this board. Particularly if the Rockets happen to make 1-2 questionable decisions in the next couple of days that backfire on everything as the Season progresses.

I really don't see any of these players at the end of the bench being make or break type impact players which is why I think the Rockets will keep the youngsters. whatever players left at 12-15 are very unlikely to will see the floor this year and if so we are probably already up sh*t creek without a paddle. one thing to note.....................this is the first time in awhile we have been in the position were no matter who we cut we will have let go a useful player. that's luxury 29 other teams would love to be facing. you can bet that no matter who we cut that player will find a job in short order

That's what I was eluding towards before.  In the end, if someone goes down, id rather have the youngsters ready to come in rather than old folks.  Unless we sign Tmac for playoffs.

I believe if the Rockets are comfortable with Camby's injury situation and ability to come back and become an important role player, and if the Rockets feel comfortable with the D12-Asik pairing going forward, Greg Smith becomes expendable. He simply hasn't shown anything special this pre-season. Smith does have one more opportunity later this evening in the Grizzlies game.

Smith has been recovering from a hip flexor and he even said he came back to early and hurt himself again so when he eventually was healthy, he was really rusty and asik had came back thus Howard and casspi have been eating all the PF mins. Don't count him out, he's still my bet to make the rotation.

        Rockets waive Troy Daniels

        http://blog.chron.co...e-troy-daniels/

the roster now stands at 17 again. I think the last 2 cuts are Camby and Williams

Sources say they will waive camby but his contract his guaranteed so they are looking at giving him a coaching job. Then my bet is williams is the last one.

Thank you for including a link rockets best fan. Unfortunately Camby is going to need surgery and months to recover. I like that he may remain involved with the organization and if he is completely healthy by the playoffs I like that he is waiting in the wings.

I think this means Smith is definitely staying which is good, it was always a win win in my opinion.

So now there's only one more cut to make, and it seems likely that Williams will be the odd man out. Poor performance during his limited minutes coupled with being the only non-injured player to get a DNP last game suggests he'll be released. Sad to see him and potentially Camby go, but what a huge plus to be turning away talented players.

I think the player I am most surprised made the squad is Brewer. I was thinking about this a little more and a factor besides his playing ability may have helped him in is quest to get a spot. Brewer interrupted and Asik interview a couple of weeks back with his own question where he said you're glad to be playing with me again big fella ain't that right and for a brief moment Asik seem to light up before answering Yes. then I remembered they played together on the second unit in Chicago and developed a close friendship. Yes we may be able to use Brewer's playing ability from time to time this year, but his real value may be his friendship with Asik

You're right RBF, good analyzes. I admit brewer didn't put on a bad show when he played, I liked the defense and he had some rather good athleticism while I haven't seen anything from Williams, however that is due to bad luck and injury which is how this system works.

My guess of the end roster after Henriquez gets cut is that Camby will retire and switch over while probably Reggie Williams gets cut if we assume Brooks has the advantage due to his past stint with the team.  between Williams and Casspi unless Williams clearly outplay the later he's shorter / older / just as bad defensively.
