This SI piece by Sam Amick mentions that Danny Ainge will offer Rondo to the Hornets for Chris Paul with New Orleans likely to reject. While not the same talent, Kyle Lowry is cheaper and Houston can offer more youth as filler than can the Celtics.
Before even getting to whether the Hornets would accept a Houston package (the Clippers can offer equally attractive assets) would Paul even agree to a deal to the Rockets? More than likely not...unless some scenario involving Dwight Howard took place next summer.
With this just based on pure speculation (on all of our parts) and based on no concrete facts, I didn't want to put this on the front page but figured it was definitely a topic hot for discussion.
Can the Rockets realistically land CP3?

I'd be skeptical about throwing the whole roster at CP3 and/or D12, I'm not sure their skill sets (or perhaps its a pure position issue) complement each other as well as, say Paul-Chandler or Howard-Turk.
Wait, what am I saying. No one on our roster is untouchable and we can definitely make some noise with even ONE of those two guys, right?

Yeah but what do we have otherwise? Say they walk. It's not like we have some great time we are losing. We're not going anywhere anyways with this team we have so we might as well take the chance I'd say.
