I've been distressed that our forum is not picking up recent topics for discussion. What's up with that? At any rate, if this post appears successfully, I want to congratulate Michael for an interesting viewpoint on the current roster.
Houston has the talent to be a solid playoff team if McHale can find success with exploiting their individual areas of talent. I never felt that RA was good with building team chemistry. It must have been frustrating to many of the younger players to see heavy minutes being played by veterans (Battier and Miller in particular) while fresh legs were available from the bench. He seemed to keep everyone on a short leash while having no real development program in mind with the individual players.
Team chemistry was in the pits with AB sulking on the bench, T-Will demonstrating attitude that would have not been tolerated by most managers, and the obvious confusion from other younger players as to their role within the system. If we can manage to get this labor contract negotiated and get back to playing some hoops, I have a lot of optimism about our Rocket's team. Personal thanks to Michael Pina for sharing his analysis with the fans of Red 94.
