I think the article forays into what many of the die-hard Rockets fans are so desperate to see happen this year. In that spirit, the heart of the content of this post is what is on the back of every Rockets fan's mind, i.e. "what if". Statistical analysis, trading insight and speculative forecasting aside, this blog captures the heart of the Rocket fandom's desire to see our home town team reach greatness once again.

Visiting someone's blog site is the same thing as visiting someone else in their own home. Anyone who goes to a gathering, looks around, and then starts complaining that it is boring demonstrates an amazing lack of class.

Many of us who read and comment on this blog frequently may disagree on occasion. However, it almost always stays civil and no one is personally attacked for having his point of view. Flaming is not a regular thing in any blog that I personally visit. Red94 is a unique blog that many of us support, and not because we personally promote Rahat. We support it because of its merit.

If anyone finds Red94 boring, they should change their visiting habits without fanfare. Now, I'm getting bored with this.... Anyone with their panties in a bunch should go find a private place and eliminate the annoyance.

It's real simple, Zzzzzzzz- start your own blog. Create the kind of discussion about the Rockets that you want rather than whining about it here.

Keep it up, Rahat.

Thanks to all for the support.

Zzzzzz: I appreciate your criticism, but am left confused by your claims. If it were strictly my writing style with which you took objection, I could understand; for a sports writer, I'm as dry as it gets. But it seems it's my choice of subject-matter which is the cause for issue. If not offering analysis or forecasts for the future, what is my role on this blog?

I'm all for becoming more versatile as a writer and improving this blog so I'm curious what it is you would like me to write about.

Dude the point is, people come here for Rockets analysis. You come onto this site bashing someone who puts a lot and time and effort to dive into things about this team that a lot of people don't even think about. Rahat, keep up the good work. This bum is a loser.

Listen I totally understand everyone sticking up for Rahat and normally i would find myself in that same position but my earlier comment has more to do with the school of thought that he represents ... It just starts to grate on my nerves the almost sickening over analyzation by a large portion of people on this blog...and your taking a sport that more resembles free form jazz... and turning it into some cold A Brave New World like mundane research paper... where you apply formulas and rules and try to project the future based on trends like you're all some sort statistical fortunetellers.... And you all puff out your chests and try to prop up your intelligence as you stare through the most boring grey colored filter and force the rest of us to try to convince pretty much everything else besides our brains from falling asleep. And I'm actually shocked that someone would try to portray me as some mouth breather who requires easier reading just because I'm starting to get tired of hearing from the opinions of the Houston Math club break down Rockets basketball....Is what I'm saying really that crazy? Like I'm not trying to be a "hater" or pick fights...

Second what J-Don says.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz- if you want "electricity", go visit realGM, hoopshype, or whatever the latest NBA site is that lacks substance and just throws things wildy in the air in an effort to draw page hits. This blog gives thought and perspective on the Rockets that is hard to find elsewhere.

...And what if the author of this article had some electricity to his writing style and didn't just give us weekly posts that read like some IKEA bookshelf instructions... me thinks the law school has brought about a dryness best suited for describing a court room... not a basketball court...more like snooze94.BORING!!

A few more "what ifs" Rahat:

What if Yao plays more than advertised? (He just played almost 19 minutes against the Nets)

What if Houston doesn't even need Lowry, Scola, or Miller (one starter and 2 important rotation players) to beat teams like the Nets? ....( Houston just beat Nets in China without those three)

What if Bud starts busting out all over? (He just had another game with great rebound numbers as well as good shooting numbers)

With Kobe at 60%, according to him, and LeBron leaving the court in Moscow with a hamstring issue; maybe the assumptions of greatness from the Lakers and Heat will not materialize. Maybe the biggest "what if" of them all for the moment is "what if Houston finally catches a break" for a season.... It just has to be ok to dream in the preseason, right?

I think that a healthy LA squad is the only team in the West that is just plain better than a healthy Houston. Every other team seems like it could reasonably be beaten in a seven game series. A crucial Laker injury or two would certainly change that. It's the East that concerns me this year. How well does Houston match up against a healthy Boston, Orlando, or Miami? Boston may once again prove old and slow, Orlando's long range shots may not fall, and Miami may not play any defense, but those are some talented squads.
