I’ve got a pretty simple suggestion for the site; add a live boxscore to the in game chat area. This will allow people to completely follow the game from your site. If you included the advanced metrics that morey uses ie eFG% etc you would be a box score pioneer.
I have looked into the matter with my TrueHoop brethren and will begin making arrangements for that when I have some more time.
Several of you suggested creating a forum for free discussion. I tried it briefly last year with a wordpress plugin and it considerably slowed down the site. And I’m not sure hosting an actual message board system would be cost-feasible for our interests – Red94 is really just a blog.
A suggestion: I implemented the Rockets Daily’s and Talk of the Moment game threads for the very purpose of general discussion. No one really seems to be using them for that. It’s not a perfect solution, but why don’t we try using the comments section of each Daily post like a forum? The mechanism indents responses to each response, so we can treat each reply as a thread of its own with its nested replies as responses to that specific thread/topic. Your thoughts?
