…pretty much exactly where we stood before this entire ordeal even began. The only thing that’s changed is that the press is just now catching onto what Morey already knew.
For a recap, after weeks of media driven certainty of Bosh landing in Miami, we got things kicked off on Thursday with Daryl Morey making his pitch in Dallas. He later told the Chronicle that the big free agents were looking for S&T’s and to achieve their objectives, had to focus on the teams with cap space first.
We then had Henry Thomas downplay the Rockets’ pitch all the while the experts had Bosh penciled in to either Chicago or Miami with not even a mention of the Rockets or even the reality that Bosh would probably desire a S&T.
Then just yesterday, Stephen A. Smith (I know, it’s come to this) reported that Bosh was pushing for a S&T with Houston, followed by Broussard and Bucher today both mentioning Houston as a strong possibility on ESPNNEWS and Twitter, respectively. (In between, Adande reported that Toronto would no longer acquiesce to a deal, overlooking that the Raptors stood to gain through such public posturing.)
In essence, nothing’s changed, and we’re basically where Morey said we’d be, only with everyone starting to realize it. Bosh wasn’t going to turn down $30million and Morey knew it all along.
It’s clear that Bosh’s preference is to team up with Wade or James. However, he won’t forego the $30milion guaranteed to realize that preference. So the question at this point is whether Miami or Chicago (probably just Chicago at this point) can put together a S&T agreeable to Toronto before Bosh gives up and settles on Houston. If the Bulls can’t deal Deng, the Rockets stand a pretty good chance.
Final note for now is on the Knicks who, according to a report, are now targeting Mike Miller because they deem him to be a “suitable alternative to Joe Johnson.” You can’t make this stuff up, folks. I can’t even laugh at their plight just due to the fact that the situation is so pitiful.

I don't know how we can't get any love as well. I think McGrady and Yao were injured so much that the media automatically dismisses us from any conversion because they knew for sure that our main stars would be injured. It has happened the past three years so ESPN expects it which equals to no air time whatsoever. I am tired of the what-ifs as well, but I still have faith that something good will happen and we can stay healthy at the most important time of the season..playoff time. I like my position as a Rockets fan rather than being a Cavaliers fan because the question of "what if" would send them into a frenzy of trying to destroy Cleveland.
Kevin:
The one national televised game we had was added halfway through the season, and we didn’t even get the Van Gundy, Jackson, Breen crew.It really is strange how a team in a city as large as Houston gets no love. The Bulls get love no matter how bad they are.We are always very unlucky. If we don’t get Bosh I kind of hope Yao gets hurt, so we can just let him go and end an era of injury and failure.I’ve said it here before, but I wish we could at least be like the Hawks and be eliminated in the 2nd round 100% healthy.I am so tired of asking “what if.”
