This is old news but 3 of the Rockets "names" played about 7 minutes more than 3 of their Spur counterparts. Jefferson played more minutes than any Rockets starter. I read this SA whine in several places (even the AP story) complaining that the Rockets must be really gunning for them (with a whopping 24 minutes for some starters, as opposed to 17) and it's simply crap.

The Rockets bench goes deeper with players people might have heard of as well. So sorry.

[...] Fess Up: Which Knicks fan kicked Henry Abbott’s Dog? Posted on October 8, 2010 by Keith R. Harden Like any good NBA blogger, I religiously read True Hoop over at ESPN.com. It’s a fantastic blog and Mr. Abbott is a fantastic writer and you should read his blog daily. However, the following passage was buried at the bottom of his Friday Bullets post: Is it just me or have a lot of Knicks fans gone straight from wholly hopeless to smug? I was excited for “cautiously optimistic” but it seems to like they’ve already hypnotized themselves into delusions of grandeur. In any case, one tiny note: That lottery pick you gave up on, Jordan Hill, is looking pretty good. [...]

I wasn't in love with Hill's shot selection. I'm not convinced he can hit those baseline jumpers every night. But luckily/hopefully he's the third guy off the bench at that position anyhow. I was however very impressed with Aaron Brooks. He's still not the greatest passer on the planet but looks to have improved his defense and can still fearlessly fill it up from beyond the arc.

Patterson will probably spend the year in Rio Grande, thats what i always thought when they drafted him. Both him and Taylor will spend their time their, unless injuries require Morey to bring them up to the big squad. Both just need to play.

And clarifying, when I say I would have picked them for the award, I mean most likely to win the award, not most likely to deserve it. (That would be LeBron.)

Meh, let's be clear: the MVP vote was for who is most likely to win the MVP award, not for best player. And MVP awards are stupid. I would have picked Durant/Howard ahead of James for the award, although James is clearly by head-and-shoulders the best player in the NBA.

I'm a becoming a huge fan of Courtney Lee. It's amazing that he's been traded twice. I'm willing to guarantee he'll retire a Rocket. Morey worked too hard to get him over the last few years, and he's looking so good. We really are starting to have my favorite kind of team. We have tons of "specialists."

Lee needs to give the ball up to Lowry and let him be the point when Lowry is on the court. Patterson looks lost. Hill played with energy and his shots were falling yesterday, making him look good. But he had too many TO and fouls, and needs to get a bit better in rebounded.

Re the Spurs.
Much like the Rockets did when Morey took over, the Spurs are getting much younger.
For all the talk about how old the Spurs are, they have just 3 players over 30 and two that are 30 this yr(assuming neither Penney nor Simmons makes the team)
The young Rockets have 2 players over 30 and 2 who turned 30 this yr.
