As has surely been apparent, I’ve been beefing up the roster for the past month in preparation for what is expected to be a turnaround year for the Houston Rockets. Accordingly, I’m excited to introduce Huay-Bing Law, the newest addition to the team. As the Red94 video editor, Huay will compile highlights from each game next season for embedding within Rockets Daily. In addition, he will produce a weekly ‘Top 10′ and a ‘Player of the Month’ feature. He also has an on-the-ground interview piece in development for the season.
In his own words, a little about Huay:
“It is my final semester studying at UT film with a concentration on cinematography. The tremendous amount of resources the university provides has enabled me to gain valuable experience in areas like narrative production, documentaries, sports photography, and photojournalism. I will be graduating this December with a B.S. degree in Radio-Television-Film.
Raised during the ’90s in southeast Houston, I was exposed to the Rockets dual championship runs that gave the city basketball fever – my family included. We celebrated together through the Olajuwon years, wishfully hoped through the Francis era, and grimaced during T-Mac’s tenure. I have a tendency before each season to optimistically predict the rising success of the Rockets and championship potential (usually based on a Stromile Swift-like free agent signing or a misplaced hope that our superstars’ health that year will prevail). However, the story lines this year have me especially excited: Yao’s return, developing young talent, roster depth, trade rumors, top-notch coaching staff, and the always reliable Boy Genius. I’m very thankful for the opportunity and look forward to documenting the ’10-’11 season.”
