Chad Ford has us taking Donatas Motiejunas (7 foot European center) with the number 14 pick. He's a good prospect, but unlikely to provide immediate help. Is there any chance that the Rockets will trade to move up? I think a guy like Ekpe Udoh would be a huge help to the team, but I don't think the Rockets will get him at #14. With a draft full of talented big men, is this the right moment to a sacrifice future pick to move up on the board?

With all the talk about Bosh, free agents, and trades, I haven't read much about what the Rockets might do with the upcoming draft. Proof, once again, that this is the best blog on Truehoop.........

I wouldn't mind starting next season with today's basic roster if an advantageous trade doesn't surface this summer. Even with Yao playing limited minutes, I can't imagine that we wouldn't improve by 10 games or more next year.

I'd hate to see the basic core of this team torn apart because the chemistry of the present roster is so good. Adding any drama queens or divas will not make me a more loyal fan. Funny thing about super-stars when they change teams, one major injury or a few nagging problems can make that label meaningless. You can't always buy success, sometimes you can build it though..................

Commentary that gives good perspective to having expectations that may or may not become a reality. Well worth the 15 minutes it took me to read… and I’m not even a Rockets fan. Kudos, gentlemen.

Hey Rahat/Jason, that was some phenomenal writing and solid analysis throughout the piece. With so many assets it's not inconceivable that Morey might even trade for a disgruntle superstar on another team (say CP3) or some other major piece on a team capped out in mediocrity (say Crash).

I completely agree that in today's NBA flexibility trumps almost all, particularly with the upcoming labor battles. I look forward to next season and eagerly awaits either a big splash this summer or next trade deadline. With Morey at the helm nothing's impossible!!!

Very much enjoyed this chat log as well as the Toronto one. Keep up the good work!
