@  Losthief : (01 July 2015 - 05:41 PM) U mean the whole trust parsons not to sign something, cause bev can still go do that we only offered the qualifying meaning we get a chance to match if he does (3 days).
@  txtdo1411 : (01 July 2015 - 05:41 PM) Is it possible that our division next year will be even BETTER than it was last season?! Depending on what the Mavs do, it could very well be.
@  majik19 : (01 July 2015 - 02:14 PM) At those deals, I would certainly take both. Bev will almost certainly get a higher offer that we can then match or not. Not making the Parsons mistake again.
@  Losthief : (01 July 2015 - 07:36 AM) keep there RFA status, and for bev means we can sign him w/ bird rights later. Good moves by the rockets
@  DenverRocket : (01 July 2015 - 02:52 AM) According to ESPN, Rockets offered Beverley a one-year, $2.73 million deal and McDaniels one year at $1.045 million
@  RocketMan : (26 June 2015 - 05:46 PM) I'll take them. No complaints. Dekker can score. Other guy will catch lobs all day.
@  jorgeaam : (26 June 2015 - 03:23 AM) So Dekker and Harrell were ranked 16 & 17 in Chad Ford's rankings, solid draft
@  txtdo1411 : (26 June 2015 - 03:11 AM) Nevermind. Should have known we were getting another 6-8 PF. I do like his tenacity. Versatility is definitely the theme here.
@  jorgeaam : (26 June 2015 - 03:08 AM) Called it
@  txtdo1411 : (26 June 2015 - 03:02 AM) Jo young reminds me of an Isaiah Canaan type of player with a tad bit more height. Would it be a reach at 32?
@  jorgeaam : (26 June 2015 - 02:55 AM) Ok, I'll stop calling out players
@  jorgeaam : (26 June 2015 - 02:52 AM) Montrezl Harrell and Kevon Looney (who many projected to be a lottery pick) still on the board, I'd say Rockets get one of them if available, specially Looney
@  jorgeaam : (26 June 2015 - 02:45 AM) Nevermind about RJ :(
@  jorgeaam : (26 June 2015 - 02:43 AM) They got Larry Nance Jr. he was projected as a late 2nd rounder
@  majik19 : (26 June 2015 - 02:42 AM) let's see who the Lakers get with the Jeremy Lin pick
@  jorgeaam : (26 June 2015 - 02:41 AM) RJ Hunter*
@  jorgeaam : (26 June 2015 - 02:41 AM) Some interesting players left, specially Rk
@  jorgeaam : (26 June 2015 - 02:38 AM) I'm still waiting for Morey to make a trade that will blow our minds
@  majik19 : (26 June 2015 - 02:29 AM) well i guess PG wasn't as big a need as we thought. Big sign that Beverly is going to be resigned?
@  jorgeaam : (26 June 2015 - 02:24 AM) Oh, he got traded to Minnessota

So, I'm the Rockets superfan among my friend group, many of whom grew up on them but have fallen away from watching them consistently in the past decade. Several have mentioned wanting to get back into following Houston, but are having a hard time. I'm going to have them over for some game watching parties, maybe head out to a sports bar to watch a few bigger games. Beyond that, though, these guys want to know a little about the team.

I was wondering if y'all had some good starting points for these guys who want to get back into Rockets basketball. Are there some good youtube compilations you'd suggest for the team as a whole or specific players? Maybe some good articles for people who are fairly familiar with the sport, but haven't been tuning in for a few years? What are your thoughts on reintroducing our team, especially for people who can't get to a live game?

Well, In my opinion, the Rockets right now are an inconsistent team, but fun to watch, and the most important thing is....given last game (OKC), on any given night, we could beat any time in the league (remember the game against Miami at Toyota Center? we were close enough to steal that one, and given that it was one of the first games as a new team, we could easily argue that we are a better team that we were back then).

We are not ready to beat a contender in a 7 game series, but I think that no one could wipe us 0-4, and the future is bright if we move in the right direction trade-wise (I assume Morey will keep finding gems hidden in the second round to provide us a solid core of capable players to surround our starters).

Tell them that for the first time in years, we are definitely moving forward and have the ability to improve for many years to come (not the "win now or never" kind of team we used to have back in the Yao-McGrady days)

This team runs. They get up and down the floor. This isn't your father's Rudy T Iso offense. They move, they cut, pick and rolls, knock down the threes. And they have "Beard-Sanity". What more do they need?
