@  Mario Peña : (04 July 2015 - 03:03 AM) The Kings got Rondo, ha!
@  cointurtlemoose : (04 July 2015 - 01:37 AM) Hahaha, the Kings have been part of what's made it so fun!! (for everyone else, that is...)
@  jorgeaam : (04 July 2015 - 01:31 AM) Not for the Kings :P
@  cointurtlemoose : (04 July 2015 - 01:06 AM) FA has been fun!!!!
@  cointurtlemoose : (04 July 2015 - 01:05 AM) Also, Mavs recovered nicely with DJ. Not sure how valuable Matthews will be after his injury. The Clippers are an interesting situation now. If they can reprogram Stephenson, and get like Koufos, then they could still be pretty good
@  cointurtlemoose : (04 July 2015 - 01:02 AM) I think these Bev/Brewer contracts are really dang good for us. If we get 2013 Beverly even for just 50% of his contract length, 6/yr, with the new cap, is a steal. Same with Brewer.
@  majik19 : (04 July 2015 - 12:27 AM) Calvin Watkins reported: "Rockets believe odds of getting LaMarcus Aldridge are stronger after the Beverley and Brewer deals. Rockets can do a sign-trade for him." Still find it super unlikely
@  majik19 : (04 July 2015 - 12:13 AM) these contracts are going to be very, very tradeable.
@  jorgeaam : (03 July 2015 - 11:25 PM) Bev is baaaack, 4 years 25 Mil
@  jorgeaam : (03 July 2015 - 11:08 PM) So the headbands might be back after all
@  majik19 : (03 July 2015 - 10:22 PM) i think that's very fair for Brewer given that Afflalo also got 8 mil/yr and Kyle Singler (????) got 5/yr
@  txtdo1411 : (03 July 2015 - 10:11 PM) 3 yrs/$24 Million for Brewer. Considering some of the contracts players have received this off-season, I like it.
@  txtdo1411 : (03 July 2015 - 09:45 PM) So Collison is reportedly not happy with the Kings meeting with FA PGs. That could be a good plan B if we don't get Aldridge. I know it has been discussed previously, but this is the first time I've seen it reported that Collison actually might be available.
@  txtdo1411 : (03 July 2015 - 09:41 PM) No way they trade Paul. They can still be a good team, and might be able to pick up Koufus or someone similar that will still make them competitive in the West. Championship team? Probably not, but Paul isn't going anywhere.
@  Cooper : (03 July 2015 - 08:15 PM) Wonder if the clips would think about trading Paul? Probably still a playoff team but they're the only one that got significantly worse.
@  Mario Peña : (03 July 2015 - 07:55 PM) I dunno, I think for the Cavs 16 is fine for Thompson but maybe not other teams. Looks like the Mavs are getting Jordan which I don't really like but may be okay now that I think about it. The Clippers get worse and the Mavs prolong the inevitable and will still be a fringe playoff team.
@  majik19 : (03 July 2015 - 07:01 PM) 16 mil a year IS way too much for Tristan Thompson. and 12 mil/yr on the surface seems reasonable to me, but if the "slow footed big man" is going extinct (re: Andrew Bogut in the Finals), then that may be a terrible contract
@  cointurtlemoose : (03 July 2015 - 04:19 PM) And cmon, Josh, just look at that franchise right now. You don't wanna go there...
@  cointurtlemoose : (03 July 2015 - 04:17 PM) It's pretty crazy, I have to reprogram my brain on what is and isn't a good contract. Though I still think 12/year for Asik and 16/year for Tristan Thompson are way too much
@  txtdo1411 : (03 July 2015 - 02:21 PM) So if Ariza was a FA this year, he could easily get a $12-14 million per year contract right? I mean I know the cap is jumping soon, but this has been nuts!

I'm with you on the Lin All-Star part. I like the guy as a person a lot. An All-Star berth would invite a ton of ridicule and racism. I'm really hoping it doesn't happen and we don't have to see it.

Finding all of those under the red and yellow tree would be fantastic (1/4/5 especially). I agree about the jerseys, with the note that the ketchup and mustard alts they've had recently are great, and I'd love to see them become the mains. Or at least I'd love to see them at all this year.

My holiday present would be for D-Mo to finish finding an NBA game. When I think about the perfect power forward for the Rockets offensive sets, I think of D-Mo's game. Of course that is after I spend a few moments fantasizing about Kevin Love.

As a Lin and Eockets fan, I enjoy your site, even when some of your writers do not believe in Lin, they are generally making a basketball assessment. However, I take issue with the way Min Wang and Rahat Huk approach the issue of Lin getting in the All Stars game, namely, saying that they would not like to see it because it would invite "a ton of ridicule and racism." I think it's fair to say Lin has not performed as well as many other PGs this season and may not deserve it from a Basketball point of view. However, the All Stars are not set up to simply to showcase the best talent: if that was the sole criteria, then there would not no fan voting, it would be based solely on performance stats. The All Star game is by definition a popularity contest, at least for the starters who are chosen by fan votes; even the bench is chosen by coaches vote, not by individual stats.

At this point, Lin is third in voting for Guards. If Lin wins a slot, then the fans want to see him play. Its not clear Lin will get a starter slot at this point, but I hope Lin's play continues to improve so maybe he will get the votes to win a starter slot and he can put on a show for the fans. Regardless of his relative talent compared to other NBA guards---Lin may not be the top guard in the league or even on his own team based purely on production--- fans love to watch him play. Let the fans speak and have their say.

So what if a vocal minority of racists and haters want to complain about it? We should not be held hostage by a small group of vocal racists. Same goes for haters. We should not be holding back our votes or hoping Lin fails to make the cut just to avoid racist comments--- if we do, we let the racists win. As Lin has shown, he can stay true to himself amid criticism, racist or otherwise.

That said, I would agree that Lin's performance early in the season was not great, but he is improving and seems to be getting back to Linsanity or near-Linsanity form. I hope he continues that trend so he can show he deserves to be a showcase talent. The All star game is a player showcase for the fans. Let the fans speak and enjoy the fruits of our votes for one weekend of fun basketball, racists be damned. If Harden becomes a coaches pick, as some believe, it would be great for the hosting city to be able to show off their backcourt duo (Lin/Harden), who were just ranked 2nd in the league for wins produced!

We don't normally get to say this (except in Chicago many years ago), but Vote now, vote often! I try to vote daily for all 4 of the Rockets on the ballot. Go Röckets!

I hate the all star game, it is a complete waste of time.

I would rather Lin get some rest for the rest of the season.
