@  jorgeaam : (04 July 2015 - 03:48 AM) I don't get it, a troubled organization gets a troubled player, it has the potential to create chaos
@  Mario Peña : (04 July 2015 - 03:03 AM) The Kings got Rondo, ha!
@  cointurtlemoose : (04 July 2015 - 01:37 AM) Hahaha, the Kings have been part of what's made it so fun!! (for everyone else, that is...)
@  jorgeaam : (04 July 2015 - 01:31 AM) Not for the Kings :P
@  cointurtlemoose : (04 July 2015 - 01:06 AM) FA has been fun!!!!
@  cointurtlemoose : (04 July 2015 - 01:05 AM) Also, Mavs recovered nicely with DJ. Not sure how valuable Matthews will be after his injury. The Clippers are an interesting situation now. If they can reprogram Stephenson, and get like Koufos, then they could still be pretty good
@  cointurtlemoose : (04 July 2015 - 01:02 AM) I think these Bev/Brewer contracts are really dang good for us. If we get 2013 Beverly even for just 50% of his contract length, 6/yr, with the new cap, is a steal. Same with Brewer.
@  majik19 : (04 July 2015 - 12:27 AM) Calvin Watkins reported: "Rockets believe odds of getting LaMarcus Aldridge are stronger after the Beverley and Brewer deals. Rockets can do a sign-trade for him." Still find it super unlikely
@  majik19 : (04 July 2015 - 12:13 AM) these contracts are going to be very, very tradeable.
@  jorgeaam : (03 July 2015 - 11:25 PM) Bev is baaaack, 4 years 25 Mil
@  jorgeaam : (03 July 2015 - 11:08 PM) So the headbands might be back after all
@  majik19 : (03 July 2015 - 10:22 PM) i think that's very fair for Brewer given that Afflalo also got 8 mil/yr and Kyle Singler (????) got 5/yr
@  txtdo1411 : (03 July 2015 - 10:11 PM) 3 yrs/$24 Million for Brewer. Considering some of the contracts players have received this off-season, I like it.
@  txtdo1411 : (03 July 2015 - 09:45 PM) So Collison is reportedly not happy with the Kings meeting with FA PGs. That could be a good plan B if we don't get Aldridge. I know it has been discussed previously, but this is the first time I've seen it reported that Collison actually might be available.
@  txtdo1411 : (03 July 2015 - 09:41 PM) No way they trade Paul. They can still be a good team, and might be able to pick up Koufus or someone similar that will still make them competitive in the West. Championship team? Probably not, but Paul isn't going anywhere.
@  Cooper : (03 July 2015 - 08:15 PM) Wonder if the clips would think about trading Paul? Probably still a playoff team but they're the only one that got significantly worse.
@  Mario Peña : (03 July 2015 - 07:55 PM) I dunno, I think for the Cavs 16 is fine for Thompson but maybe not other teams. Looks like the Mavs are getting Jordan which I don't really like but may be okay now that I think about it. The Clippers get worse and the Mavs prolong the inevitable and will still be a fringe playoff team.
@  majik19 : (03 July 2015 - 07:01 PM) 16 mil a year IS way too much for Tristan Thompson. and 12 mil/yr on the surface seems reasonable to me, but if the "slow footed big man" is going extinct (re: Andrew Bogut in the Finals), then that may be a terrible contract
@  cointurtlemoose : (03 July 2015 - 04:19 PM) And cmon, Josh, just look at that franchise right now. You don't wanna go there...
@  cointurtlemoose : (03 July 2015 - 04:17 PM) It's pretty crazy, I have to reprogram my brain on what is and isn't a good contract. Though I still think 12/year for Asik and 16/year for Tristan Thompson are way too much

In a move that could lead to the unraveling of the Lakeshow or maybe vault them into Western Conference supremacy, the Buss family will choose a coach this week.

if phil comes back he will vault them to champions. this is what real coaches are made of. while I don't like phil I can't argue with his resume. the man has had sucess with every team he has coached. it will probably take a wheel barrel full of money to get him out of retirement, but may be well worth it. the lakers only have about a 3 year window to win a championship with the present cast so why not max out your chances.

Oh please please choose D'antoni. PLEASE!! or Stan Van Gundy. If we have to hear about the Lakers all the time at least it would be dramatic with those two. No defense and a ton of hasty threes from average three point shooters. Or the fun of waiting of watching SVG and Howard stare hatefully at each other all game.

But realistically Phil comes back and coaches west coast games. And even though he's part time he gets 10 mil for the season. These are my psychic predictions, Lord ah Mercy.

He will come back, and they will likely win a ring in the next 3 years(agree with RBF that that's their window, for now). From reports I've heard Phil has expressed that he would "love" to coach DH.

There is no better coach for your team when you have superstars.

I think he comes back too. I wonder how many away games he coaches in person. I wonder if they get another assistant coach that is qualified to be a head coach that does the away games that are not on the west coast. Lots of questions.

ESPN is reporting that they're getting D'Antoni. This is sure to be entertaining! The Lakers will have a terrible defence and all of those old guys will be tired out from running by midseason. But they're going to score, and score a lot, I expect.

Right Sir Thursday and if there are any problems Lakers fans will surely be chanting for Phil Jackson. Looks like Jim Buss does not have the stomach to deal with Phil Jackson this year. Strange turn of events considering Jackson's agent was headed to Los Angeles today to meet with the Lakers' front office.
