Anyway, I'm with you, at this point there's no need to panic or assume something in the works will happen soon with Martin. His presence on the roster neither hinders nor helps us with our assumed goals this season and unless the deal is way to good to pass up, which is unlikely, then we just stand pat with the idea of holding him til the deadline.

BTW - I suspect the whole Kevin Martin shoulder injury was bogus. IMO, he got benched by McHale and didn't like it and pouted his way onto injured reserve with the intent of the org to trade him in the offseason.

Which would make the situation extremely awkward for them as it stands.

There is no way Bynum doesn't resign with Philly, too close to home and that is now his team. Exactly what he wanted.

He gets traded before season starts.
One,because both sides want him out of Houston.
Two,if he's here he pretty much has to play and his 30 minutes or so is not just going to cut into Lambs minutes but also Morris or Jones minutes.(If Martin is getting minutes at SG,Delfino isn't. And since I doubt the team signed Delfino to cheerlead from the bench that means Delfino gets the back-up SF's minutes.)

You won't get a star but I think someone would be more willing to give up a draft pick later on in the year.

I predict that Martin is going to have a great season. He will have a huge chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove playing in a contract year. He'll also have time to adjust his game to the new NBA rules that made it harder for him to draw fouls last year. Martin isn't a great defender, and he never will be--he's just not strong enough. But he's the guy who will spend however many hours in the gym it takes to perfect his offensive game. It will be a great example for our rookies, and will greatly increase his trade value, so holding on to him for the mid-season trade (or the sign and trade during free agency) makes sense.
