(16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM)Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.
(13 September 2015 - 05:24 PM)Sad to see Moses pass. I don't remember watching him as a Rocket but I do remember his Philly and Hawks teams. He was the perfect man to mentor Dream. It's a very sad day for his family and friends and there are many.
(03 September 2015 - 02:26 AM)theres more articles all over, but the jist is houston (and texas) doesn't really arrest for it, they just recommend you leave it in your car when they catch it. So seems dwight got lucky he was in texas and not cali or the NE.
(03 September 2015 - 01:42 AM)one bullet left in the chamber is diff than fully loaded and ready to go. Still stupid...but not like he was prepared for a shooting spree.
1) Your three biggest stars have issues.
Deron Williams has CHRONIC ankle injuries
brook Lopez is injury prone.
joe Johnson is getting old.
2) Your owner is paying lots of money for results and your roster may not be up to par with those expectations.
3) Your GM(king) has thrown away your draft picks to rebuild or retool the roster.
4) KG is about to retire and looked washed up most of the time anyway.
5) You might lose Pierce in FA.
With all this in mind, if you are Kidd and you have heard the rumors that King tried to fire you when you were 10-21(or whatever that record was), what do you do for job security? You do what he did. Ask for more money or ask for more power. If that fails find an escape route.
Anyone who is trying to say that his jersey should be torn down or whatever is ridiculous. He could have handled the situation better, but the outcry is humorous.
Calling someone crazy that doesn't agree with you is not up to the standards of this board. I would hope the mods do something about it. Lin is not great but he's improving and while right now he's not a star he's getting better. He is a PG/SG hybrid and his strengths are Hardens strengths so there's a redundancy of talent so he's not able to showcase himself. I think Lin is being underrated by so many because he's being compared to Harden.
Mchale is here to stay. A lot of us think he's not a great coach, but realize he'll get at least a few more years to prove us wrong or right. I hope he does well because then the Rockets would be doing well.
Lin is having a hot start and even when his three isn't falling, he's helping his team win in other ways. I don't expect him to keep up his scoring average per game seeing as how he's not a starter, but I definitely believe he's earned an all-star bid so far. The season's still young and others could pass him, but right now he's deserving. Whether that lasts or not remains to be seen.
I want Jones to start EVERY game since he's the only person besides Lin who can hit a three. I saw several times Parsons passed up an open 3 because he was scared he was going to miss it. Houston has been marketing him as a member of their "big 3." I don't know if that added pressure is playing any part, but he's clearly not himself in terms of confidence.
Your exact words were "As to Jeremy Lin well he just isn't that important," so while you didn't say he was unimportant you came pretty dang close. I apologize if that slight change in words caused you to be upset.
Secondly, I should have stated that you sound like you don't like Lin rather than what I actually said, "You don't like Lin."
I exaggerated your words and for that I'm sorry. I'll be more circumspect in my wording from now on.
Lol. I'm a fan of the Rockets and trying to paint me as a Lin fan is fine. It's pretty telling about yourself. Also calling me a liar? Oh well. Let's just agree to disagree. I don't to get dragged down to your level of name calling. Have a good day.
Good defenses will take the three and the layup away. I know a lot of you are stat guys to the exclusion of everything else. But just because something is inefficient as the first or second option doesn't mean it's worthless. One of the smartest coaches in the league is Pop and TP shoots a good percentage from midrange. The SA offense is very balanced. Green/Leonard are their 3 point men. TP and TD are their midrange/layup guys and Splitter is their PnR guy. I may be wrong, but a balanced offense is essential in the playoffs.
Considering KMart was their best player, I think Lin was told he was brought in to be the face of the franchise. So his comments are truth. And the fact that he's okay with taking the lesser role shows his ego won't get in the way of him improving.
Harden was pretty awful in the finals, but unlike some I don't judge based off of one series. Some look at Lin's playoffs and think scrub. Some look at Harden in the finals and think choker. But I look at the whole picture.
