I have to agree. Wearing something that says CLUTCH CITY scares me. Maybe I am being to superstitious. The sleeve design is terrible the players actually look uncomfortable.
The whole concept of the "Clutch City" unit was botched in every way possible. Every way possible. I just can't sum it up in any other way. The worst part about it is, we ditched the ONLY legit excuse for a uniform that we had last season for this crappy design and will be showcasing it in most of our nationally televised games. Embarrassing.
The "Titan" grey unit had potential, but was just not executed as well as I'd hoped. Easily the most aesthetically pleasing, but that isn't saying much.
The black alternates for 16/17 just don't make any sense to me. It seems like Les asked his middle school son to redesign the uniform and went with whatever the kid came up with. Stock standard font in white arched across a black jersey. Not creative in any way and completely irrelevant to the identity of the team, the team's history, or the history of the city itself.
I have studied the rebranding of the Milwaukee Bucks over the past year and really hoped that Houston would take the same route hiring a company to develop something really, really great. Our original logo with a few modern touches. A simple, yet timeless update to our logo/team crest that embodies Houston/Rocket culture.
Is it too late to back out on any and all of these kits and give a professional design group try their hand at this? Please?
