I couldn't agree more, Melo is the exact opposite of the type of player we need. We need a defensive stopper who will also fit into what we're trying to do offensively.

What about going for Melo? Lin/Asik/Parsons/DMo(he can learn from Bargs).

Jeff Green would be fine as a role player I guess. Not sure if I'd trade Asik for him or why Boston at this current stage of figuring things out should make this sort of trade. I'd guess
I've noted before, with the team like it is now, and minus Asik, the guys we should be looking for is
A. a big that can play both 4/5 reasonably well , aka a competent 3rd big, perferably one that you wouldn't hate starting if Jones don't keep his play up and/or he or Dwight gets hurt. I think I see 3 guys out there that's probably avalible, and can fill his role reaonsably well to different degree, in order of preference I'd like Amir Johnson / Taj Gibson / Jason Thompson.
B. a 2nd wing defender / player . Garcia has filled that role reasonably, but when Parsons and Garcia needs to fill a bigger role it becomes more evident of the lack in this area. There's a lot of guys here depending on how high or low you set your standard.

Melo is a classic chucker. He shoots a lot, but he doesn't do so at a high rate. His TS% of .525 puts him far below Harden, for comparison.
Melo's Effective Wins Added is 4.5, compared to Parson's 2.5. He just isn't enough of an upgrade for losing all of those pieces, and his offensive style really doesn't fit in the Morey philosophy.

I would keep asik.

keepin asik means were praying to win it all this year or next, right??

Well I've been saying that all along.

You simply can't replace him though.

Well not exactly, though I think more or less the current situaion is that Asik has forced our hands and made things difficult enough in the locker room, I mean , if Asik give it his all without complaint than I like him more than most other options, but currently that's not exactly happening is it?

Trade for melo and turn around and shop him. If that's legal.

Some team will get desprate and they will be greedy for what asik can provide. Asik is an elite rebounder and post defender you dont just replace that god forbid dwight get hurt then what put in D-MO

understood. just saying for all intents and purposes, his time here was over once dwight signed. baring him pretending to be happy and playing hard AND us winning a title this season or next, then a trade is THE option and the sooner the better.
