My guest in this episode was Sachin Gupta, Basketball Operations and Salary Cap Analyst for the Houston Rockets, and also, the creator of ESPN’s Trade Machine. We talked about the role of analytics in the Rockets’ operations and discussed some of the public’s perceptions regarding Morey and the staff.

The entire interview is broken down into two clips with Part 2 a short 2 minute take on the staff’s modus operandi in the event of a conflict between the statistical analysis and the traditional scouting reports. I hope you enjoy!
